Hyperion

Dan Simmons

I began this novel on Tuesday March 15, 2022. I completed it Friday September 2, 2022. It has 475 pages. It was published in 1989 by Del Rey Trade Paperback.

"The Consulate and Home Rule Council flatlined us three standard weeks ago with the news that the Time Tombs showed signs of opening. The antientropic field around them were expanding rapidly and the shrike has begun firing as far south as the Bridal Range."

Hyperion p. 4

"A FORCE space task force was immediately dispatched from Parvati to evacuate the Hegemony citizens on Hyperion before the Time Tombs opened. There time-debt will be a little more than three Hyperion years. We do not know if the evacuation fleet will arrive in time. But the situation is even more complicated. An Ouster migration cluster of at least four thousand...units...has been detected approaching the Hyperion system. Our evacuation task force should arrive only a short while before the Ousters."

Medina Gladstone

Hyperion pp. 4-5

"The FORCE joint chiefs believe that this is the Ousters big push. Whether they seek to control Hyperion just for the Time Tombs or weather this is an all-out attack on the world-wide remains to be seen. In the meantime, a full FORCE: space battle fleet complete with farcaster battalion has spun up from the Comn system: to join the evacuation task force, but this fleet may be recalled depending upon circumstances."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 5

"Oh yes, we were challenged the moment we tunneled down from the quantum leap. A hegemony warship is escorting us this very moment."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 11

"Treeships rarely occurred more than a four-or five-month timedebt, making short scenic crossings where star systems were a few light years apart, thus allowing their passengers to spend as little time as necessary in fogue. For the Treeship to make the trip to Hyperion and back, accumulating six years of Web time with no paying passengers would mean a financial loss to the Templars."

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 11-12

"There is no death in all the universe. No smell of death, moan, moan, moan, Cybele, moan, for thy pernicious Babes, have changed a God into a shaking palsy, moan, brethren, moan for I have no strength left; weak as read-weak-feeble as my voice-Oh no the pain, the pain of feebleness, moan, moan, for still I throw..."

Martin Silenus

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 16

"I was baptized a Lutheran, a subset which no longer exists, I helped create a Zen Gnosticism before any of your parents were born. I have been a Catholic, a revelationalist, a neo-Marxist, an interface zealot, a satanist, a bishop in the Church of Jake's Nada, and a duelspaying subscriber to the Assured Reincarnation Institute. Now I am happy to say I am a simple pagan."

Martin Silenus

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 20

"Among us we represent Islands of time as well as separate oceans of perspective. Or perhaps more aptly put, each of us may hold a piece of a puzzle no one has been able to solve since humankind first landed on Hyperion. It is a mystery, and to tell the truth, I am intrigued by mysteries even if this is too be my last week of enjoying them. I would welcome some glamour of understanding but failing that, working on the puzzle will suffice."

Weintraub

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 21-22

"Father Paul Dure certainly would have become a bishop and perhaps a pope. Tall, thin, ascetic, with white hair receding from a noble brow and eyes too filled with sharp experience to hide their pain, Paul Dure was a follower of St. Teilhara as well an archeologist, ethnologist, and eminent Jesuit theologian. Despite the decline of the Catholic Church into what amounted into a half-forgotten cult tolerated because of its quaintness and isolation from the mainstream Hegemony life, Jesuit logic had not lost its bite. Nor had Father Dure lost his conviction that the Holy Catholic Apostle Church continued to be humankind's last best hope for immortality."

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 25-26

"The bishopic on Pacum had not mentioned any history of Catholicism on Hyperion, much less the presence of a cathedral. It is almost inconceivable that the scattered seedship colony of four centuries ago could have supported a large enough congregation to warrant the presence of a bishop, much less a cathedral."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 33

Father Dure performed a ritual for no reason, and almost stopped when he saw a woman in his audience. The woman was blind.

"I am tired of this city. I am tired of its pagan pretensions and false histories. Hyperion is a poet's world devoid of poetry. Keats itself is a mixture of tawdry, false classicism and mindless, boomtown energy. There are three Zen Gnostic assemblies and four High Muslim Mosques in town, but the countless saloons and brothels, the huge marketplaces handling the fiber plastic shipments from the south and Shreik Cult temples where lost souls hide their suicidal hopelessness behind a shield of shallow mysticism. The whole planet wreaks of mysticism without revaluation."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 34

Father Hoyt performed a service for a dying man on the street.

"Ain't going to be no flame trees this far down. If there was the forest sure as hell wouldn't look like this. You got to get up in the Pinions before you see a tesla. We ain't out of the rainforest yet, Pedre." Old Kady

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 40

Father Hoyt was taken care of by Semfa, but as he was saying goodbye, he could see she was sad. He blessed her and kissed her on the forehead.

They see a Phoenix being cooked alive by a massive electric storm that's taking place on Hyperion.

"The Cleft was not carved out of the rising plateau as the Legendary Grande Canyon on Old Earth or World Croak on Hebron. In spite of its active oceans and seemingly Earthlike continents, Hyperion is tectonically quite dead, more like Mars, Lusus, or Armaghast in total lack of continent drift. And like Mars and Lusus, Hyperion is afflicted with Deep Ice Ages, although here the periodicity is spread to thirty-seven years by the long eclipse of the currently ambient white dwarf."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 46

"Mist rose from the unforeseen rumblings to the rivers far below, spray raising in shifting curtains of mist to multiply the settling sun into a dozen violet spheres and twice that many rainbows. I watched as each spectrum was born, rose toward the darkening dome of the sky and died. As the cooling air settled into the cracks and caverns of plateau and the warm air rushed skyward, pulling leaves, twigs, and mist upward in a vertical gale, a sand ebbed up out of the Cleft as if the continent itself was calling with voices of stone giants, gigantic bamboo flutes, church organs the size of palaces. The clear, perfect notes ringing from the shrillest soprano to the deepest base, and speculated on wind vectors against fluted rock walls. On caverns far below venting deep cracks in motionless crust, and the illusion that human voices that random harmonics can generate. But in the end, I set aside speculation and simply listened as the craft sang its farewell hymn to the Sun."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 47

They had a data sphere at Pacum to help them communicate. Tuk, their guide, was killed by bandits in his sleep.

"Even fear fades and becomes commonplace after days of anticlimax."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 50

"The Zen Gnostics would say that emptiness is a good sign, that it presages openness to a new level of awareness, new insights, new experiences."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 51

Father Hoyt met the Bikuru, who were natives to Hyperion. They carried no weapons, and didn't say a word. They had no facial hair whatsoever. Their skin was a tad yellower than human skin from the environment.

"The more I learn the less I understand."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 57

Father Paul Hoyt tries to trade with the Bikuru, but they don't understand and discard the objects, and go back to their talks in their huts. The trinkets he gives them are littered. They won't let him examine them. They don't even have recognizable names. They do not eat meat regularly because of its availability. They haven't been able to hunt, so they eat the dead animals.

"Each new revaluation adds to my confusion."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 60

The Bikuru kept their population at 70, the same number of survivors recorded on the Dropship 400 years ago. When someone dies, they procreate to replace and nothing more. The Bikuru had no more than ten-year age difference. The Bikuru had no more than a ten-year age difference between them.

"I ran my hand over the deeply cut fold of ornamental carvings around the door, smooth. Everything had been smoothed and worn by time, even here, hidden from the elements by the protective lip of the overhang. How many thousands of years had this...temple... been covered into the south wall of the Cleft?"

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 67

"Four meters high, three meters wide carved in old style of the elaborate crucifixes of Old Earth, the cross faced that stained-glass wall as if awaiting the sun and explosion of light that would ignite the inlaid diamond, sapphires, blood crystals, lapis beads, queens’ tears, onyxes, and other precious stones that I could make out in the light of the flash light as I approached."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 68-69

The Bikuru burnt all the fathers’ tapes, notes and com logs because he accidentally exposed himself.

"There are planetary archaeo-historians who devote their lives to the study of labyrinths."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 76

"Labyrinthine worlds are always Earthlike, at least 7.9 on the Sol-mev Scale, always circling a G-type star, and yet always restricted to worlds that are tectonically dead, more like Mars than Old Earth. The tunnels themselves are set deep--usually a minimum of ten kilometers but often as deep as thirty--and they catacomb the crust of the planet."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 76

Father Hoyt had met the Shrike and he survived.  Now he was treated as a holy man among the Bikuru. The cruciform which had been implanted in Father Hoyt was his own creation. The Bikuru are sexless.

"I now understand the reason for faith --pure, blind, fly-in-the-face of-reason faith as a small life preserver in the wild and endless sea of the universe ruled by unfeeling laws and totally indifferent to the small reasoning beings that inhabit it."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 89

The Consul and his party were taken from a bar by a blue android.

"For more than a century it had been illegal to own androids on Hegemony and none have been bio factored for about that long, but they were still used for manual labor in remote parts of the backwater, non-colony worlds like Hyperion. The Shrike temple had used androids extensively complying with the church of the Shrike doctrine which proclaimed that androids were free from original Sin, therefore spiritually superior to humankind and--incidentally--exempt from the Shrieks terrible and inevitable retribution."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 113

Fedman Kassad found himself in a simulation, but didn't know who was real are part of the program.

Again, it was in the final hours of OCS: HTN simulation. By then Kassad had learned that the exercises were something more than simulations. The OCS: HTN was part of the World Web. All thing, the real-time network which governed Hegemony politics, fed information to tens of billions of data hungry citizens, and had evolved a form of action my and consciousness all of its own. More than a hundred and fifty planetary data spheres mingled their resources within the framework. Created by six thousand Omega class AIs to allow the OCS: HTN to function."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 129

"Qom-Riyadh was by its own choice and the accident of its distant location, a technologically primitive world. But the inhabitants were not so primitive. Nor were the revolutionary mullahs who led the invasion so imposed to the "Great Satan of Hegemony Science" that they refused to lie into the global data net with their personal comlogs."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 135

"The Ousters had been the single external threat to the Hegemony for the four centuries since the Barbarian Hordes had left the Sol system in their crude fleet of leaking O'Neil cities, tumbling asteroids and experimental comet clusters. Even the Ousters acquired the Hawking Drive, it remained official Hegemony policy to ignore them as long as their swarms stayed in the darkness between the stars and limited their in-system pondering from gas giants and water ice to uninhabited moons."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 158

Kassad met Moneta on Hyperion, he had dreams about her before they met at the city of Poets near the Time Tombs.

"The Time Tides drive the tombs backward through time."

Hyperion Dan Simmons

Moneta p. 162

"The essence of honor lay in the moment between equals." Kassad

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 165

Kassad and Moneta used the powers that the Time Tombs gave them. As they saw a battle, they saw each bloody victim as well as victor. However, they couldn't do more than defend themselves against the Shrike.

Kassad met Moneta in the past which was his future, because of the Time Tombs. Kassad and Moneta make love amongst the dead of Hyperion. Kassad told Hoyt he would kill Moneta the net time he saw her.

They were going to Naiad, but found that it was destroyed mysteriously. So they were traveling to another city.

"From my earliest sense of self, I know that I would be--should be-- a poet. It was not as if I had a choice; more like the dying beauty all around breathed it's last breathed in me, and commanded me that I be doomed to play with words for the rest of my days, as if in expiation for our races thoughtless slaughter of its crib world. So, what the hell, I became a poet."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 182

"Belief in one's identity as a poet or writer prior to the acrid test of publication is as naïve and harmless as the youthful belief in one's immortality...and the inevitable disillusionment is just as painful."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 184

"The life of a poet lies not merely in the finite language-dance of expression but in the nearly infinite combination of perception and memory combined with the sensitivity of what is perceived and remembered."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 187

"For all our talk of expansion and pioneering spirit we all know how stultified and our human universe has become. We are in a comfortable Dark Ages of the inventive mind; institutions change but little, and that by gradual evolution rather than revaluation; scientific research creeps crablike in a lateral shuffle, where it once leapt in great intuitive bounds; devices change even less, plateau technologies common to us would be instantly identifiable -- and operable: --to our great-grandfathers."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 187

"Words are the most supreme objects. They are minded things."

William Gass

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 188

"And so, they are. As pure and transcendent as any ideas which ever cast a shadow into Plato's dark cave of our perception. But there are also pitfalls of deceit and misperceptions. Words bend our thinking to infinite paths of self-delusion, and the fact that we spend most of our mental lives in brain mansions built of words means that we lack objectivity distortion of reality which language brings. Example: The Chinese pictogram for honesty is a two-part symbol of a man standing next to his word."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 188

"Language serves not only to express thought but to make possible thoughts which could not exist without it."

Bertrand Russell

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 189

"Poets are mad midwives to reality. They see not what is, nor what can be, but what must become. Words are the only bullets in the truth’s bandolier. And poets are the snipers.

George Wu

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 189

"Poetry is only secondarily about words. Primarily it is about truth."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 190

Mother died using Flashback, a drug that made you hallucinate. That is why I only used it twice.

"A person constantly busy accessing makes a pitiful sight in public."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 197

"No true poet has been able to explain the exhilaration one feels when the mind becomes an instrument as surely as does the pen or thought processor ordering and expressing revelations flowing from somewhere else."

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 204-205

"King Billy love and appreciates fine music but cannot produce it. A connoisseur of ballet and all things graceful, his Highness is a klutz, a movement of prattfalls and comic bits of clumsiness. A passionate reader, unnearing poetry critic and patron of forensics, King Billy provides a stutter in his verbal expression with a shyness which will not allow him to show his verse or prose to anyone else."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 205

"A perfect mixture of the classical utopia and the Pagan mystery."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 212

"At first we think the missing are merely absent; there are no watchers on the walls of our city, no walls actually, no warriors at the door of our mead hall. Then a husband reports a wife who disappears between the evening meal and the tucking in of their two children."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 214

"The Shrike is the Lord of Pain and the Angel of Final Atonement that comes from a place beyond time to announce the end of the human race."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 221

Martin burned his cantos to save King Billy

"In hopelessness there is always hope."

Het Masteen

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 233

Sol dreamt that he had to kill his daughter Rachel on Hyperion. He chose to ignore it. Rachel got on a medic ship because she was aging backwards. Rachel's ex Melio came to visit Sol. Sol asked a bishop of the Time Tombs for assistance with Rachal's condition, but was denied and told that she was the chosen one of the non-believers.

"The essence of human experience lay not primarily in peak experiences, the wedding days and triumphs which stood out in the memory like dates circled in red in old calendars, but, rather in the unself-conscious flow of little things-the weekend afternoon with each member of the family engaged in his or her own pursuits, their crossings and connections casual dialogues imminently forgettable, but the sum of such hours creating a synergy which was important and eternal."

Sarai

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 282-283

"After fifty-five years of dedicating his life and work to the story of the ethical system, Sol Weintraub had come to a single, unshakable, conclusion: any allegiance to a deity or concept or universal principle which put obedience above decent behavior towards an innocent human being was evil."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 290

Sarai died.

"Hope is good, sometimes it is all we're given."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 305

"Cybrids are a different matter. Tailored from human genetic stock, they are far more human in appearance and outward behaviors than androids are allowed to be. Agreements between the Technocore and the Hegemony allow only a handful of cybrids to be in existence."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 328

"Unlike a human personality which can...I believe the consciousness is...be destroyed at death, my own consciousness cannot be terminated. Therefore was, however as a result of the assault, an interruption. Although I possessed...an... shall we say duplicate recording of memories, personality, etcetera, there was a loss. Some data was destroyed in the attack. In that sense, the assailant committed murder."

Johnny

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 329

"AIDS II was a human plague disease long before Hegira. It disabled the immune system. This virus works the same with AI."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 332

"There are quasi-family arrangements but they share none of the requirements of emotions or responsibilities that human families exhibit. AI "families" are primarily convenient code groups for showing where certain processing trends originated."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 335

“AIs are pursing the evolution of pursuing the evolution of consciousness on a galactic scale.”

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 341

Cybrids are being recycled.

“Worrying about AI's turning on us is about as productive as worrying that Farm animals are going to revolt.” Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 342

“The persona template becomes self-aware…I don’t mean just self-aware, like you and me, but self-aware that it’s an artificially self-aware persona—and that leads to terminal Strange Loops and nonharmonic labyrinths that go into Escher-space.” Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 342

“With the Hawking Drive humankind had explored, colonized and linked with forecaster worlds across many thousands of light-years. But no one had tried to reach the exploding Core Sun’s. We had barely crawled out of one spiral arm The Hercules Cluster.” Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 366

“May there not be superior beings amused with any graceful, though instinctive attitude my mind may fall into, as I am entertained with the alertness of a stout or the anxiety of a Deer? Though a quarrel in the streets is a thing to be hated, the energies displayed in it are fine. By a superior being our reasoning may take the same tone through enormous they may be fine—This is the very thing which consists poetry.” Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 370

“The colonies of the world have limited dataspheres. While there is some contact with the Technocore via transmissions, it's an exchange of data only…. rather like the first Information Age computer interfaces…. rather than a flow of consciousness. Hyperion datasphere is primitive to the point of non-existence. And from what I can access, the core has no access whatsoever with that world.”

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 382

“Fanatics have their dreams, wherewith they weave,

A paradise for a sect, the savage too

From froth the loftiest fashion of his sleep Guesses at Heaven; pity these have not Traced upon vellum or wild Indian leaf, The shadows of melodious utterance. But bare of laurel they live, dream, and dye; For Poesy alone can tell her dreams, With the fine spell of words alone can save

Imagination from the sable charm

And dumb enchantment. Who alive can say, ‘Thou art no Poet—mayst not tell thy dreams’? Since every man whose soul is not clod. Hath visions, and would speak, if he had loved, and been well nurtured in his mother tongue. Whether the dream now purposed to release

Be Poet's or Fanatics will be known when this warm scribe my hand is in the grave.”

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 363-364

“The Technocore has been divided into three groups for as long as the core existed.  The stables are the old-line AI, some of them dating back to pre-mistakes days; at least one of them gained sentience in The First Information Age. The stables argue that a certain level of symbiosis is necessary between humanity and the Core. They've project as a way to avoid rash decisions to delay until all variables can be factored.”

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 365

Johnny died on Hyperion going to a Shrike Temple with Brawne to try and make him human. The authorities revoked Brawnie's license and swept the whole incident under the rug.

“The day is gone, and all are sweet are gone!

Sweet voice, sweet lips, soft hands, and softer breast,

Warm breath, light whisper, tender simple tone,

Bright eyes, accomplished shape and languorous waist!

Faded the flower and all its bedded charms,

Faded the sight of beauty from my eyes,

Faded the shape of beauty from my arms.

Faded the voice, warmth, whiteness, paradise—vanished unseasonably at shut of eve, when the dusk holiday—or holinight Of fragrant curtainalace begins to weave the worst of the darkness thick, for hid delights;

But, as I’ve read love's missiles though today,

He'll let me sleep, seeing I fast and pray.

The living hand, now warm and capable of earnest grasping, would, if it were cold

And in the icy silence of the tomb,

So, haunt thy days and chill thy dreaming nights

That thou wouldst wish thine own heart dry of blood

So, in my veins red life might stream again, And though be conscious—calmed see here it is—I hold it towards you.”

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 408-409

Brawnie is pregnant with Johnny’s child.

“I think one begins to feel when things aren’t important. I’m not sure how to put it. When you’ve spent about years entertaining rooms filled with strangers you feel less pressure than when you’ve had half that number of years experience. You know what the room and people in it probably hold for you and you go looking for it. If it’s not there, you sense it earlier and leave to go about your business. You just know more about what is, what isn’t and how little time there is to learn the difference.” Siri

Hyperion Dan Simmons pp. 431-432

“The Ousters have explored new dimensions of aesthetics and ethics and biosciences and art and all things that must change and grow to reflect the human soul.”

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 467

“The Ousters understand time tides, the antientropic fields surrounding the Tombs. They could not generate such a field, but they could shield against them—theoretically—collapse them. The Time Tombs and all their content would cease to age backward. The Tombs would “open.” The Shrike would slip its tether, no longer connected to the vicinity of the Tombs. Whatever else was inside would now be freed."

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 469

“It no longer matters who considers themselves the master of events. Events no longer obey their masters.”

Hyperion Dan Simmons p. 470

On their way to the Shrike temple, they started singing “We’re off to see the Wizard,” from The Wizard of Oz.

Bending
Clea Weston
Water above, heavy and dead,
Black Rocks all around
And I am down here holding my breath,
Trophy kid comes to this.
He swims to me in smiling bubbles
Twisting between my legs and up my back and around my neck
"A little bending, nothing to fear my dear."
Oh temptation?
Far above--is there air still, still air?-- wet burial layer heavy and dead. Don't go."
Reality Check p. 210

"Wealth never stops circulating, and all you have to do is tap into the flow like a maple sugar farmer."

Simon

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Grim Grotto
11th book
By Lemony Snicket

I began March 5, 2021 and completed it on Wednesday March 14, 2021. This novel is by Lemony Snicket. It has 323 pages.

Sunny, Violet and Klaus Bauldare were marooned from an Island from a storm. They were adrift in a taboggon. A submarine saved them. They were in Captain Widdershins sub.

"He who hesitates is lost."

A Series of Unfortunate Events p. 33

They met Fiona, the captains step daughter.

"The amount of treachery in this world is enormous, and the best we could do is one noble thing."

A Series of Unfortunate Events p. 59

Another sub was after them. It was in the shape of an octopus with a metal dome for a head. Another sub rescued them. Klaus may have figured out why the sugar bowl is important, but not where it is.

"The poisons of some deadly fungus can be the source of some wonderful medicines."

A Series of Unfortunate Events p. 106

They were in a cave and they found lights that spelled out "VFD"

Then they found themselves trapped in a cave by mushrooms. They waited until the mushrooms went back or wanned until they left. They arrived to an empty sub. They found a poisonous mushroom in Sunny's helmet.

The submarine was about to be intercepted by Count Olafs sub. Count Olaf took the kids to the brig where they met the hooked henchman which was Fiona's brother.

Fiona and her brother and the children were now on a mission to save Sunny. Sunny was saved by the Wasabi in place of Horseradish. She gave the Wasabi to Klaus back in the cave.

"Reading poetry, even if you are only reading it to find a secret message hidden within its words, can often give one a feeling of power, the way you can feel powerful if you are the only one who bought an umbrella on a rainy day, or the only one who knows how to untie knots when you're taken hostage. With each poem the children felt more and more powerful--or they might have said in their food code more and more wasabi--and by the time the two volunteers were interrupted they felt as if the tables just might have been continuing to turn."

A Series of Unfortunate Events p. 270-271

The children had to stick a porthole with gum and glue it back in place. They saw a creature not known to them. Mr. Poe awaited their arrival on Briny Beach. However they got into a taxi, which was driven by Kit Snickett.

MASH

One of the most beloved TV sitcoms of all time, M*A*S*H follows the antics and exploits of a team of doctors and support staff stationed at the 4077th Mobile Army Surgical Hospital in Korea during the Korean War of 1950–53. With its unique combination of comedy and wartime drama, M*A*S*H managed to make audiences laugh and cry. It was both incredibly popular and critically acclaimed, picking up 14 Emmy Awards during its 11-year run on CBS (from 1972 to 1983). The series finale remains the most-watched scripted episode in U.S. television history, viewed by an incredible 60.2% of American households. M*A*S*H introduced us to a collection of colorful characters. Over its 11 seasons, we grew to love Captain Benjamin Franklin "Hawkeye" Pierce (Alan Alda), Captain Trapper John McIntyre (Wayne Rogers), and Captain B.J. Hunnicutt (Mike Farrell). For a situation comedy, the characters were surprisingly complex, demonstrating real growth from one season to the next. The setting, meanwhile, gave M*A*S*H extra depth. The series took place during the Korean War, but first aired during the Vietnam War. The writers and producers had to tread carefully with their antiwar message — they were allowed to comment on war, but not directly protest against it. Still, the message was clear to viewers. As Hawkeye said, “War isn't hell. War is war, and hell is hell. And of the two, war is a lot worse.” Here are some of the most classic lines from M*A*S*H, ranging from straight-out gags to surreal remarks, to the more heartfelt lines that gave the series its special, lasting appeal.yeremiah@aol.com Yeremiah Hardt

Family Unity: Thoughts about Encanto

Family unity is one of the greatest magical powers. For this, it is possible to adapt within your circle to make it stronger and more powerful. This is portrayed within the movie Encanto in many ways. Encanto is about a family that has power, however it does not last until they open their doors and share it with the town in which they reside. I believe this is true in all instances, if we don't share what we have and squander it on ourselves, the gifts we have go, when we go however if we open ourselves up and take a chance on the unknown, we may be surprised with how open and honest others can be with us.

Siege

ST: DSN: Siege started I began reading this on January 2, 2013. It has 272 pages. It is by Peter David.

A changeling was on a murdering rampage aboard DSN. He almost got away on ship, but they traitored his ship in.. He transformed into a suitcase before discovered. Miles was going to perform some magic tricks at Molly's birthday, however she wanted a pony.

Keiko didn't like being on DSN that much, she missed the Enterprise. She was a botanist, not a teacher. There were enough quarters on DS9 to accommodate at least 3 times as many people. Nothing was wrong. Odo surprised Obrien after he was done. Obrien showed Odo the magic trick.

The wormhole was creating to many neutrinos when used thus making it unstable. The Wormhole destroyed a Borg Cube. The wormhole incident really upset Jake. Jake wondered how long DS9 could last against the Borg. Every time the wormhole opened Odo hoped his relatives would come through. A Klingon ship wanted to go through the wormhole Sisko sent the feed of what happened to the Borg cube, so they didn't go through.

They asked for refuge at Deep Space Nine. Mas Marko was the father. Rasa was his son. Aria was his daughter. Del and Lobb were his other sons. The station got another visitor. Glav, a Ferengi, just arrived at DS9.  He just wished to tell Quark about his success from the con Quark pulled on him.

Cisco was talking to a Cardassian, Grotto, in his office, simply because they wanted to maintain present on the station. Bashir came in and talked to Cisco about the boy, who might have Eddington disease, and made sure he knew how to track it and care for it. Marko Edemian rang a bell in the Prominode and that made everyone keep their distance.

Sisko didn't want any trouble from them. K'olkr what the believed in was the way of acceptance. The kid looked weak. Bashir saved Rosa with his offer to accompany him with his duties. Marko was encouraged by the success of his son. Glav had come to the station to rub Quarks face with his success.

Odo told Cisco the Ferengi wanted to buy the station. Obrien was practicing magic tricks for his daughters birthday. Lobb was murdered in his quarters. Azria blamed herself for her brothers death. The two remaining children had a sickness. According to their religion Bashir was not allowed to treat them. Quark to Glav to ops. Kira was having them removed because they were an annoyance. Sisko made an announcement about the investigation going on.

Miles gave Keiko a phaser for protection. Jake was walking Dena, a  girl from school home. Grotto wanted Quark to be a spy for the Cardassians on DS9. They sent Lobb into space. Meta and Dena were new friends. Dina's mom was being harassed by a Cardassian. The Cardassian raped her. The Cardassian thought he broke her arm.

She was a shapeshifter. She enveloped Gritto, the attacker. But then had mercy. Jake Sisko went by Meta's quarters to check on her, saw blood coming out of the door and called for security. Odo went through the door which was locked in his gelatinous form

They knew it was a shape shifter. Sisko told Dukot about Grottos demise. Bashir was talking to Azira about her son saying what if their son would remain dead and not go to their god and Marko lifted him almost killing him. The Cardassians were threatening to blow the station up if they didn't get their way to find the killer. The killer might be an offshoot of Odo's genealogy, and he might not be, Odo didn't know anything of his kind, it wasn't good that the only relative he found was a serial killer.

Kelsi was the stations multi-faceted woman, she was in charge of many things, she was the premier traffic manager. She was the next victim. Sisko made a station wide announcement about the changeling murdering people.

They asked if they should take Odo. He said then the mystery would las longer, since Odo is the Chief of Security. Obrien asked to escort his wife home, Sisko asked if he was that insecure on the Enterprise and he responded no. Every where there is risk. Sisko made him a deal, he would escort Molly, Keiko, as well as Jake back to their quarters. Basher and his nurse made a code word, to make sure of their identity.

Two security men found something suspicious Odo and Sisko beamed over. They found the murderer, Odo changed into his gelatinous form. The criminal went into the Holosuite unbeknownst with Quark and Gaz. Bashir was looking for Quark. Jake was bored in his quarters and went to search for Nog, who hadn't been to school for days. Odo turned into a rat to go into the crawlspace after the criminal and found Nog. Bashir entered the holosuite just in time to save Quark and Gaz from the criminal.

Odo transformed into a hawk to save Quark and Gaz. The shape shifter was in the form of Meta. He grabbed Jake. Odo changed into a mirror. Sisko shot and it reflected off Odo and hit the criminal changeling. Bashir blackmailed Quark by saying he would tell Kira and Dax about the holosuite program and he wanted the program erased as well. Bashir said he could scan everyone as they beamed down to Bajor, but he only had Starfleet's medical record and the station had so many other species.

Mas Marko was called to Sisko by Nog. Azira lost her son. Quark told her he went up to a Holosuite. Sisko didn't call for Marko. Marko called a warship to pressure Sisco to give up the guilty changeling. Rasa was unable to hold liquids and so he was dying in a holodeck program which was going to happen in a few months.

But the program didn't work as of yet Bashir hadn't got the permission to heal Rasa. When Bashir got back to the infirmary he found his nurse dead. Odo surprisingly wanted to come to Molly's birthday. The changeling was posing as the medical unit when it killed the nurse.

Gul Dukot came calling in. Dax offered to say she commuted the murders. Odo was crossed, he wanted to consider the individual a member of his race to finally find something about himself, but didn't want to be related to the mass murderer. Kira was talking to Odo, than Sisko called, and Odo got an idea.

Azira took her son to Bashir and he was healing him. Sisko and Obrien were very tired of the situation. Sisko had a new thing to deal with, the Cardassians were getting down his throat. Quark sold the bar to Rom, and was getting off the station. Glav was behind the shapeshifter, he brought him to the station.

Glav thought he killed Quark, but it was Odo. The Changeling killed Glav, said he was only killing people for fun. Odo and the other changeling were fighting and transforming. Both went in the walls. The changeling was hit by phaser fire and seeped through the crack under the door.

Odo lost the changeling. Odo and a security team were after him. He was getting away in a runabout. Odo jumped and got to it. Odo was left on the outside of the runabout. The runabout made the Cardassians fire at it. The Eddington were firing at the Cardassians because it was their war. The Cardassians saw that Odo was on the outside of the runabout.

DS9 had a tractor beam on the runabout. It was destroyed in the crossfire. The shapeshifter wasn't killed within the wormhole. He was ripped apart but still conscious. He was in help having to live with what he did forever. Odo was transported back to Deep Space Nine. The changeling had stabilized the wormhole. Marko excommunicated his wife for allowing Bashir to heal their son and divorced her. She was going to live on Bajor. Odo was Molly's horse for her party.

Q Space

"Time meant nothing to him. An instant was the same as eternity; both were merely subjective measures of his isolation and his madness, which began the moment he was cast out of creation and had been taking its toll ever since. His exile had just begun, and it lasted forever." (Q Space)(1)

"Fair is fair, there is there, and here is nowhere, nowhere, no hope." (Q Space)(1)

Professor Faal, a Betazed scientist, was returning to Betazed on the Enterprise. The barrier of our galaxy causes insanity, brain damage and even death. Professor Faal was discussing going outside the known galaxy at a briefing.

"Exploring the unknown always contains an element of danger."

"The Fundamental mission of life has always been to extend the limits of our knowledge of the universe, exploring new and uncharted territories."

Barkley delivered the heart of the Experiment and wound up making a fool of himself. Milo, Filos son, missed him desperately, was stuck babysitting his sister. Councilor Troi sent Ensign Wildman to take Milo and his sister to the Holodecks Faal is hiding something Troi believes. Faal hadn't mentioned his children at all while working in engineering with Laforge. Geordi lost his mother two years ago, she hasn't been found yet.

"When you can do anything, nothing is more boring than simply doing it. Getting there isn't half the fun, it's the whole enchilada."(Q 38)

Q's wife and child appeared in the mess hall.
Baby q was playing with what seemed like a planet in the form of a ball. Q put the ball his son was playing with back in the Solar System it belonged in Q transported Picard back on the Bridge. Q froze Data for some time in mid sentence. Baby q was in the holdeck playpen. Baby q went to the ceiling.

Troi and the doctor came. Q tumbled down.
When they went above Warp 5 damaged the Fabric of space-time. Q turned on the EMH and was asking him for candy. Beverly turned it off and gave him a lollipop. The baby’s mom appeared and scared Beverly.

The Enterprise was under attack by the Calmerians a gaseous species. Q abducted Picard. They got the probe back that they used to study the energy field. They couldn’t get out of the attack by the Calmerians. Q was guiding Picard through the birth of the Solar System and Q in his youth.

The youthful Q reminded Picard of Wesley Krusher. Q in his youth slung an energy band which killed Kirk. Picard was in a white emptiness that seemed to last forever.

"Sometimes poetry is the only suitable response to what the universe holds before us.” (Picard 166)

The Enterprise had no idea why the Calmerians were attacking them. The Calmerians were forcing the Enterprise into battle. Data was attempting to adapt the Universal Translator so they could communicate. They might have to go from the barrier because of the Calmerians.

They were retreating from the Barrier because the Calmerians however Faal was begging them to stay on course for the barrier. Picard was in Tagus 3 before the ruins one of the foremost archaeological mysteries within the Alpha Quadrant the oldest humanoid civilization in the Galaxy. 18000 years before human history began.

On Tagus III there were Imortru, a humanoid silvery skinned alien race who flew. They dived in the water. They were playing with their lives at stake. Q was witnessing that as one of their own

"The human mind was never designed with time travel in mind." (Picard 211)

"Merely maintaining the Fundamental stability of the multiverse isn't enough for me. ((Q Space)213)

The Calmerians were engaging the Enterprise in a conflict. Enterprise fought back. Q and Picard were at The Guardian of Forever. Both saw Ripples within time.

"Entrust the future to the fickle whims of chance." (Q Space)233

Q thrust Picard into the Guardian. On the Enterprise Data got the translator to interpret the Calamarans. Q and Picard were on a planet of freezing temperatures probably billions of years before present day. Q meets a younger version of himself 0.

"There's always someplace else no matter how far you've been. Some unknown territory beyond the horizon, across the gulf, or hidden beneath a hundred familiar layers of what's real and what's every day. Time has to be someplace other or why else do we roam? We might as well just plant ourselves in one cozy cosmos or another and never budge. ((Q Space)247)

"You can make your own rules, take your own chances. You and me, we're not the kind to play it safe. What's the good of living forever if you never take a risk? 0 260

Q damaged the Guardian of forever by pulling 0 through it.

“It’s a truism with humanity that those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Perhaps in your case reliving your history is the only way we can both learn from it.” (Picard-265)

The Sorrows of The Empire

This novel had 168 pages. I began reading it on November 4, 2012. I completed reading it on November 14, 2012.

Spock killed Kirk. What brought this on was Kirks intent to erase the Halkins from existence. The mirror Kirk had stated to him that killing.was wrong and encouraged him against this course of action.

Spock, was said by Kirk to have tried to breach both universes. Marlena, Spock inherited woman from Kirk, wanted a mind-meld. Serek came to Enterprise. Spock gave him a tour. Serek said only a few words.

Serek forced Spock to listen. Spock wanted to attack Coridon, Serek thought it will be a waste of time and resources. Spock said it will send a message of strength to Romulan and Klingon governments. The Vulcan council believe The Romulan Empire will fall. Vulcan might be eradicated in three generations. A constituted republic would replace it.

It would become a coalition of planets again. Spock just nominated Serek as his chief council. Serek accepted this appointment. Elaan, the Dolman of Eas, was aggressive towards Spock. Thoughts of Spock having special abilities were scaring the crew

Uhura was getting ready to murder Spock.
Spock took an away team down to a Vulcan monastary, it was deserted. They killed Deckers who Spock chose at the last minute to go. Deckers father was ready to have a civil war, to avenge his son, but Hoshi objected.

The Enterprise picked up a message saying to meet at the Terra Nova system to hijjak the Enterprise. When Enterprise got there, it surrendered.

Spock, however, overpowered Decker, with the help of his first officer Takesha and relieved Decker of command. He died rather than be betrayed. Spock was planning to kill Hoshi as soon as they got to Earth. Spock told Sevik about the device to kill everyone on the ship. Everyone was killed in Hoshis board room by Saavik.

Spock was the emperor. He felt he was a stranger in the castle even though he was born on Earth. Serek was his first visiter. Spock was planning to anhilate the Empire and replace it with a governing body. The one power Spock kept for himself was that his word was law. Spock returned to the Enterprise

For the first time, since he became Emperor, he wasn't protected by the Titenus field.

The Enterprise took him to Rigiler 1 to see Dr. Marcus. Marcus was working on Project Genisis, which Spock cut funding for. Genisis creates M class planets that could support life. He wanted Marcus to make other worlds habitable without the full magnitude of Genisis. A Romulan is found on Vulcan and he is killed swiftly. Two Vulcan females are in love and go against the law and give in to their desires. Klingons were going to strike the empire. No one knew why Spock was setting the Empire up for anhilation.

Admirals within the Empire were planning on assassinating Spock. They were planning on giving the throne to Ranjit Sinjh. They were also planning to wipe out the Senate as well. Curzon Dax was one of the people actively against the Klingon in. Dax disrespected the Klingons as they were congratulating themselves over a tiny victory.

The Klingons were working on a ship that could fire cloaked. Marlena was drowning in an artic sea. It was all a dream. She had the same nightmare for more than a decade.
Talking hadn't dissolved its power. Spock didn't want a child with anyone. Spock feared his child would die in the transition between the Empire going to a Republic.

Spock overcame the sensation of causing a massive civil war.between the.Cardassians, Klingons and Romulans. The assassin was put in head of the guards protecting Spock because the head stepped down. Spock set up this meeting to attempt to make a truce between the empires

Gorkon, the head of the Klingons, was there to form an alliance to wipe out the Romulans and Cardassians. Spock was letting his empire fall because he believed the Klingon empire will fall after.

Memory Omega was an all inclusive project of all the land and people of the empire. Marcus didn't believe Omega could be completed in two years as Spock requested. Spock killed Kirk as a favor to her, to prevent his action to David, her son. Spock wanted Saavik to return to Vulcan and rezine from Starfleet.

Valaris, who Spock was married to, was helping Spock to extinguish the empire and give birth to a new government. Valaris, lost control the weapon and injured herself. Spock destroyed it. Spock and Marlana were put to death. The Klingons were attacking. Spock was asked to kneel in front of the Klingon and Cardassian leader, but refused to and put him to death.

They killed Serek as well and cut his head off as well. They organized the slaves by profession. Sevik lied about her identity and was going to start a freedom movement which Spock had put together, but kept secret.

The Rift

The Rift is by Peter David. It has 274 pages. Its was copywritten 1991 began August 10, 2014 and completed it August 28, 2014.

Aliens Caligars

The Enterprise encountered an unknown entity in space. It was a mystery to the computer as well. The captain said it could be a time dilation wormhole. A temporal rift was ahead of them.

The Enterprise went into the rift. Pike was an exercise nut. Pike was going to box with Tyler. After it was over, Pike got it from Dr. Boyce. Pike found out his First Officer had feelings for him. They were being hailed from the rift.

They were going in. They fired a probe into the rift. In response to their probe the rift sent pieces and a message back saying "nice try". The probe was sent through the rift 33 years ago. They found a greater power source in the debris. In The Rift pike saw insane images and colors that made no sense

He was growing younger. There was a bizarre creature looking at him which made his soul freeze. Ahead of them was just whiteness. A face appeared as they past through the rift. They met with Zyo the leader of the Alien race on the viewscreen who wanted to meet on their terms. They beamed over.

During the reception Pike was a little nervous,  but Boyce put him at ease   him in conversations with the alien species. Tyler was scolded by Pike to remember where his interest lay. They may not be worthy to enter the Federation now, but someday they will and the Enterprise wants to make it as easy as possible, by given the Federation notice.

They saw holograms which were far beyond what the Federation had technology for. Zyo was the alien the Enterprise was in contact with. Zyo's parents were the master builders. They built everything. She was going to be one as well. They ran a test on the warp core.

A Comadorre was on Kirks Enterprise, The bridge crew were embarrassed by how the computer worked the last time Daystrom was on their ship. Each star was an invitation to Kirk to come and explore and it would be rude to not. Kirk observed the irony of going into the rift, by having so many personal rifts aboard. They just beamed up Richard Daystrum.

Ecma, the Commandore old friend beamed up. The Commandore didn't remember her. Fox broke his hip, femur from a collision with Hicks. Ecma had a child with her brother, which was allowed in her culture. The Worldnet of Calligarian had a homing beacon which led the shuttlecraft flown by Scotty to that point.

The city had a dome surrounding it, which opened when it became necessary. Spock led the away mission. The forcefield was made out of atmosphere bonded together. They had a pad that where you would think of someplace you would go. McCoy stopped Fox from being so hostile by threatening him to beam him up to sickbay and having him participate through a view screen.

Ecma loved the Ambassador, that is why she wanted to leave. Ecma was sick. McCoy was afraid to operate on her because he didn't know her biology. Scotty and Thak found something that resembled a huge dilithium chamber. If the Transwarp system came online a new definition of warp was necessary. The Calagar asked Spock about the TV entity. Deystrum found a bunch communing with themselves. McCoy had nothing to give Ecma. Tyler was humming Ecma to sleep while she was sick to soothe her. Her world is very harmonious. Kirk had Uhura play music throughout sickbay to help Ecma as well as the others.

They insisted Ecma be returned. The Caligars were going to hold the away team until Ecma was returned. Ecma was fighting everyone in sickbay and was probably fighting to stay alive as well. Ambassador Fox told the Romulans the location of the Enterprise.

Ecmas husband was arguing with his son about his mothers return. Her husband was saying his son will not like her to return. The son is now Master Builder. Spock is performing a mind meld with Alt. Scottie broke the meld injuring Alt. Then a few Caligrian guards came in. The landing party managed to get away. Something came through the shuttle pod. The shuttle pod was about to crash. None were injured.

One of the warp nacelles were ripped off during the spiral downward. Macro and Tyler fought Tyler cheated by phasering Macro. If Ecma leaves they will hold the away team hostage. Kirk spoke with the World Mind, but was warned not to. Ecma wanted to go back to the planet to save Kirk and the away team.

ST Avenger

 William Shatner 370 1997

Kirk and Picard were on the Borg home world as it was breaking up, the Enterprise saved them. Tarsus IV was a ghost planet now due to poisonous food as well as deaths among the masses.

At 13 James Kirk met with Serek and was selected to represent humanity. James Kirk witnessed Serek and Kodos conversation and was told if he revealed any detail he would be killed. Picard was forced to fire on a Federation Vessel that was under the Borg influence.

Strom, a Vulcan, and his wife were sick and were trying to cure themselves through the transporters bio filters which wasn't working.

The Children of Heaven were Klingon/Romulan/Human bio-enginneered to maintain a peace in the Galexy. Christine met a mysterious man who she took to the library of maps to find his wife who was dying in a hospice. She asked what planet she was from. Since the woman in question was still alive she couldn't be found in the records of the dead.

IDIC stands for infinite diversity in infinite combinations.

Spock and Serek never mind melded. For more then 80 years Spock has been trying to bring the Romulans and Vulcans back together. There was a food shortage and it could lead to all out war between the Federation, Romulans and Klingons.

Chal became uninhabitable due to the virus that was spreading.

Almost all life had become extinct. A Klingon brought Spock a holo imager. This portrayed the aide that assinatted his father, followed  by taking of his own life.

Picard went down to the Chel homeworld. He discovered they were behind the making of the virus. He was taken hostage. Kirk and Teilani were  running for cover. Christine struggled to find her comm badge but finally got up to the Tobias.

Christine rescued Kirk and Kirk said he'd  only help if they got Teilani as well. Kirk took the ship down. Kirk and Spock were being seen by MBagas ships EMH. Kirk was in a transportee long enough to be conscious of it.

Kirk was surrounded by thousands  of dying Borg. Serek came to Kirk before they even met. Kirk met Hugh. The nanites were removed from Kirk. The ship was rescued by Vulcans and the crew was in their custody.

Kirk was going to try and lie to the Vulcans. Spock didn't recommend that. Kirk was assuming the identinty of someone who stayed on Chel. All his background was changed as well.

Spock  was arguing with the magistrate  about the interruption in the mission being the reason for Spock not relaying the fact of the pathogens they could be carrying. They were locked up in a holojail which prohected all of Vulcan in a three foot space.

To make sure Spock was Spock and not some holographic projection of him he would ask him about a meeting with Cochrane. Spock asked Kirk about McCoy. Hugh and, a female Borg named, Miko dragged Kirk over the corpes of Borg. As they dragged him, he felt his nanites burn within.

After the nanites were finished with him he was brought to a stream to bathe. Miko stayed and cared for him. Spock wasn't behaving as he would so Kirk slapped him.
They were asked to provide a blood sample to see if they had the virus. They found the makings of a antidote to the virus in a plant on Chronus.

Someone might have released the virogen.
Symmetrists were considered terrorists by some and environmentalists by others. Only later did other factions begin to terrorism in there name. Picard had Starfleet declare war.

Starfleet is just searching for a cure to the Virogen. Picard stated Serek was the Symmetrists leader. Data saved the day on a huge debate going on between the Enterprise Crew and the Magistrate. Kirk was recognized.

Barc managed to beam Chritine, Kirk, and her crew on to the Tobius. The systems were offline. Kirk, Srell and Spock were sent to detach the umbilical chord from the ship.
Srell got captured by the guards on the spacedock. Srell phasered himself.

This brought Spock to tears. Kirk was getting tired of death. The Enterprise found the Tobias. When Spock told the Vulcan representatives on the Enterprise of Srells death, all that was asked was if Spock held his Katra.

To which he responded no. That was all the mourning that was done. Kirk hit Picard so they couldn't go to warp. The Vulcans didn't  believe Srell was dead. Spock was the youngest Vulcan with Bendii Syndrome, which killed his father.

The Enterprise  was following Kirk to the source of the disease. Kirk brought Spock a holo projecter that cleared his mothers and father's name of the Symmetrists lies. The Tobias was in orbit of Teraus 4 being hit with transporter mines. They were saved by the Enterprise. Beverly and Picard came down and joined Kirk and his team on the surface.
Crusher and M'Benga found the source of the virogen.

Srell shot Crusher and as M'Benga tried to save her shot her as well. From the meld Kirk knew he had to avenge Serek. They released the antivirus in the atmosphere. They reprogrammed the EMH to be McCoy to assist the doctors. Data brought the real McCoy. 2 hours later the cure was found.

ST VOY Children of the Storm

"Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny." This is stated by Mahatma Gandhi.

Voyages through space and time. Voyages through peoples lives. Voyages through what makes the ships run. Here is a rundown of the crew within this story. The captain of the USS Quirinal is Regina Farkes and the pilot was Japel Omar. Ezri Dax is captain of the Aventine. Chakotay is captain of Voyager. Phinnagan Bryce is pilot of Voyager. Hugh Cambridge is  the councillor on Voyager. Tom and Harry recalled some of their adventures in the Delta Quadrant. Janeway is dead. Fleet Admiral William Bastelle opened a rift to fluidic space almost destroying Voyager. Chakotay brought Neelix aboard. Torres was the fleets chief engineer. Tuvok was working with Starfleet intelligence on the Romulan problem. He then was serving under Will Riker.

Admiral Paris was a Borg once.
The Borg invaded Alpha Quadrant. The Neysar have developed the ability to catch consciousness. Seven saw Counselor Cambridge because she heard voices. She broke up with Chokatay. They were planning on meeting the Children of the Storm.

Aventines Ullman had been briefly possessed by the Children of the Storm in order to make this possible. However, little is known about the Children of the Storm . They are bodyless, they traveled in thought bubbles which were there vessels proppelled by thought. The Federation is scared because they have detroyed thousands of Borg telepathically without even firing a weapon.

Voyager encountered the Urnatal, travellers, a long way from home. Afsarah was cought as a youth defacing art. Fife had brought T'Mar a variety of food. Phinn imagined he was in a hydroponic bay.

Farkes was intercepting the Children of the Storm. They were planning on making a slipstream jump away. O'donnel is the best genetic botonist. Their was only enough food for the crew to eat rations. Phinn believed The Benamite, which was their fuel could be recrystallized. However the technology did not exist as of yet.

Farkes had 347 contacts with the Children of the Storm. They were approaching their vessel. Their ships are semi-fluid liquid metal hydroge. Ti'Ana was now channeling the Children in sickbay. She said to the captain, that she was told not to return to their space.

Neelix met the Dr. and talked to him about New Talex. The doctor was giving medical supplies to Neelix. The Children controlled a hologram much like the doctor. Torres was wondering if she could co-ordinate engineering for Voyager and Achelis on Achelis. Achelis had five huge replicators which could produce parts of ships as well as anything else.

The Children were accusing the Federation of taking lives. The "Children" were  communicating through Ti'ana and said they will kill. Ensign Yuka could not tell if she was dreaming or not and let the "Children" in the ship.

Harry asked for a transfer to Esquilence. Harry is the chief of security.
The "Children" can read and control non-telepathic crew members. Admiral Paris had died. Kim read Mirel a bedtime story, while Tom was in command of Voyager. Huge spheres have shown up on Voyager which produce the Children. Narv was decreasing the atmosphere in one section to cause the Children to leave. Because of this the mom sphere began to shrink. Psilakis targeted the Sphere with phasers and blew it up.

The Children were now after another ship. Quirnal left. It would repair then return. It still had Children on it. Phinn, the engineer, was working on the Slipstream drive. Farkes wanted him to wear her hazardous material suit to fix the Slipstream drive. In exchange, he gave Farkes his transporter so she had more of a chance to live.

When Voyager came out of Slipstream they arrived at a debris field and thought it was the other ships.

They were looking for a buoy from the ships. Admiral Eden was thinking about StarFleets orders and the lives lost. Seven called Torres to help her get a singularity to track the ships Slipstream trail. Torres reminded her they almost lost the Warp Core. Seven said if the Warp core didn't eject Tom and Torres wouldn't have got together. Seven picked up a distress call, they found a distress blinking blue light

Quirnal survivors formed a camp on a M class planet. The Children enter peoples minds when they are asleep. The ship has ten spheres captured. The spheres contains hundreds of distinguish life forms. They are pure thought, once they think it they are there. Different colors represent different functions. When merging they sacrifice themselves.

The Children have increased the growth of plants

The crew was planting seeds to distract and communicate

Fleet Commander Eden was helping give out food to the crew of Quirinal

Torres pulled her aside and told her if the Achilles were to be fixed it would take tremendous amount of energy

Seven, Harry and Petel were assigned to figure out how to communicate with the sphere

The Children may be part virus that is why they are so resilient

They now, were looking for the parents. Parents may have died. They wanted to use the spheres as a battering tool for safe passage. It destroyed the Borg because they destroyed the planet of their friends, single cell life forms that thrived on those worlds.

Larson went in to try and communicate, but couldn't. They are dying. Two people died because they ate non-replicated food of which the Children contaminanted.

Demeter was going to send a robot to plant seeds on a planet to distract the Children and escape

Quirnel was going to look for the Children's mother. Torres is keeping something she is ordered to keep from Tom.

Demeter fired seedlings into space for the Children to follow, however this did not go as planned

Voyager is looking the Children's mother and Demeter

Tiana talked with Eden, she told her that the Children had such hatred of being separated from their Mom

Peace is born of mutual understanding.

Url was going to take control away from Odonnel by Fifes order if she refused to act in the best interest of her crew and kill the Children if necessary.

7 and Cambridge were witnessing the birth if the Children.

Tom left Blanna and Mirel with Cambridge because Voyager was going on a dangerous mission.

The planet where Mother was was an entire huge organism. Every few minutes it gives birth. A child begins as a single thought. They mourn what the Borg have done. The Children will help find the ship that is missing.

The Children are attracted to growing plants. They were going to try and put a.plant directly in a sphere. Voyager found Demeter. A sphere is showing human life signs. Voyager rescued Farkes from a sphere. The Children, through Guynn, asked Chakotay why he broke they just made.

The fleet had made a friend of the Children. The new planet the Children inhabit is called Persephone. Odonnal wife Alana died a few years ago in a miscarriage but still got advice from us. Farkes woke.

Gainley was injured so drastically she was in recuperation for the rest of the mission and probably when they returned. When Tom beamed over to the Galen he was met by the doc who told Tom Mirel was not doing her studies. Seven kissed Cambridge.

The Spear of Destiny

The Spear of Destiny is finding it way throughout all time and space. Here is just a little story dealing with it. I began this story on September 5, 2016. I finished it on September 7, 2016. It had 56 pages.

The doctor and Bessie were going to steal something. UNIT stands for United Nations Intelligence Taskforce. PTN stands for Physical Temporal Nexus.

Jo and the Doctor were toward Gamla, Uppsala, Sweden to get the spear. Jo and the Doctor were about to find out if the spears owner was a bot. They found Njord.

The spear of destiny was the spear used to kill Jesus. The Doctor and Jo were going to be sacrificed. The spear never missed what it was aimed at. It missed the Doctor,  only because he went into the TARDIS.

Jo broke the Masters temporal core leaving him stranded in the age of the Vikings.

Healer

This novel was written by Linda Windsor in 2010. I began reading it on Saturday March 7, 2020. I finished it on Saturday May 16, 2020. The novel had 351 pages.

"Nature's magic (protoscience) was the knowledge and properties of the God's wonderful creation, a knowledge practiced by many Christian heroines and accompanied by God. But sometimes it was used for evil, and accompanied by dark magic."

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 10

This quote illustrates the differences between the magic seen in the cosmos as oppose to what we, humans, create. It is mostly used to achieve the same ends.

"Bear in mind that druid in that time was a word for all professionals--doctors, judges, poets, teachers, and proto-scientists as well as priest. Druid meant "teacher, rabbi, magi, or master," not the dark, hooded stereotype assumed by many today."

Linda Windsor

Healer pp. 10-11

This quote shows the meaning of the word druid through time. It has many attributes which are relevant to todays living.

"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things that are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:18

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 11

"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: And every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus  Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is the spirit of the antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come, and even now already is in the world. 1 John 4: 1-3

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 11

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abidth in me, the same bringth forth much fault: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:5

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 31

"In the old person's demented thought, he'd brought justice to those who had betrayed him and stopped an enchantress forever. Sometimes as on this particular day, it pushed him beyond reason, for it was a reminder that their was one thing left undone. The heiress of Gowryns still lived Glenarden at least in his mind."

He'd seen a pious priest plying  God with prayer for favorable weather and studying the Heavens for His signs. The same signs that had spoken to the farmers and the fishermen since time began. No magic. Just absolute observation."

Caden

Linda Windsor

The God who made all wants to be our armchara. Our soulmate. He wants to be our father who loves each of us, even when we have not been lovable...or good...or just. He is a father who allowed his son to be sacrificed for all our sins."

"Somewhere between This World and the Other World lies a place where the spirits may continue to journey forward or go back."

Caden killed Brenna. Ronin couldn't  believe it. Brenna awoke from the dead.

"For nature against itself."

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 216

Ronin was fighting his brother about taking Foal's coat down from his room. He didn't want Brenna to awaken from her injuries to find the wolf skin hanging as a trophy. This showed tremendous growth in Ronin's character in how he cared for his wife.

"Love. Pure love. It poured from those words into her ears, filling her, forcing out her dread. Even her pain she realized as she pried open her eyes. At last it was bearable, not waiting with swords and hammers to beat her back into unconsciousness."

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 221

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 259

"Brenna is a healer, both of physical and spiritual body. She is trained after the ministry of Jesus and His disciples in Scripture and medicine...although she does not have as much learning as Merlin Emyrs wanted due to having to hide her for so many years. But God gives us all we need, even if it's not all we would have."

"God speaks through us though the heavens and stars."

Linda Windsor

Healer p. 262

"That is why the Druids knew who Jesus was, of his birth and death, before His disciples brought the news of his sacrifice and resurrection to the British shores. The heavens were like a scroll of all the world ordaining Jesus King of Kings, Messiah, Son of God. It was surer than Merlin Emrys' recital of Arthur's genealogy at his coronation."

If we cannot find and stop those who abuse such sacred knowledge of creation for their own gain and glory, the church itself is at risk. We all, Christian and Pagan alike, shall be washed in the same black water regardless of our fruit."

Martin

"It is your choice to make. Will you submit to God's will, or insist on your own? Will you remember your blessings or your rage? Will you feed the beast within you as you feed Caden's or starve it with gratitude for the miracles that have taken place in the last hours?"
