Q Space

"Time meant nothing to him. An instant was the same as eternity; both were merely subjective measures of his isolation and his madness, which began the moment he was cast out of creation and had been taking its toll ever since. His exile had just begun, and it lasted forever." (Q Space)(1)

"Fair is fair, there is there, and here is nowhere, nowhere, no hope." (Q Space)(1)

Professor Faal, a Betazed scientist, was returning to Betazed on the Enterprise. The barrier of our galaxy causes insanity, brain damage and even death. Professor Faal was discussing going outside the known galaxy at a briefing.

"There's always someplace else no matter how far you've been. Some unknown territory beyond the horizon, across the gulf, or hidden beneath a hundred familiar layers of what's real and what's every day. Time has to be someplace other or why else do we roam? We might as well just plant ourselves in one cozy cosmos or another and never budge. ((Q Space)247)

"You can make your own rules, take your own chances. You and me, we're not the kind to play it safe. What's the good of living forever if you never take a risk? 0 260
