ST: TNG Blaze of Glory

We all have many blazes of glory within our lives. No matter the size of our adventures we succeed. I began this book Wednesday April 8, 2026. It has 277 pages within it.

The Enterprise was going  to Star base 37 which was orbiting Artemis IV. Artemis was inhabited by the K'trail which were ancestors of the Vulcans and Romulans. They express more emotions than the Vulcans, however are not as aggressive as the Romulans. The vessel they are searching for has a cloaking device which makes it harder to detect. Laforge was shocked that the ship had cloaking capabilities and wondered how cost effective it was. Riker is suspicious of Ivan’s story. He suspects he’s unwittingly working with the Romulans.

The Enterprise reviewed a distress call from a merchant  and went to investigate. It was the Wyoming, a merchant vessel. Then the Blaze was firing at the Enterprise.

“It took a warrior’s courage to attack a clearly superior foe.”

Data recreated a holo program of Blackbeard and the swashbucklers to observe them and their reactions to new stimuli.

“To certain types of so-called abnormal personalities criminal activities often takes on the aspects of a competitive sport. The challenge is committing the crime and getting away with it, because it entails not only risks-or adventure, if you will-involved in commission or these crimes itself, but the competition with the authorities, themselves as well above the law or outside of it.”

Lieutenant Dorn

p. 71

Lieutenant Dorn is being sent on an away mission with Data,  Geordi and Riker. Picard recorded the entire conversation on his communication badge, however he didn’t know he was working with the Romulans. The K’trail sector is to become part of the Neutral Zone, if the Romulans get their way.

“Merchant spacers were a tough and unruly lot and many merchant captains were not particular about who they recruited for their crews. The merchant space fleet had become a refuge for all sorts of borderline personalities-people who were fleeing from their troubles, social malcontents, hardened adventurers, even criminals who had gone to space to escape the authorities of their homelands.”

Riker, Dorn and Laforge went to a planet and saw some cybrids. These are cybernetic, augmented, bio-modified, hybrids. These were illegal in the Federation. But in other Quadrant of the Galaxy they still can be found. Kaitana was a cybrid, who thought Riker liked her. However she led the landing party to the bar they were looking for. Kaitana got the landing party a room but than backstabbed them and took them hostage.

Picard rescued Z'gral from house arrest and beamed them both up to the Enterprise.

“Why start a war when you can achieve your objective by other means.”

Riker and his team were captured by Captain Blaze. Kaitana was fighting Riker on the Glory. Kaitana killed Dorn, but Blaze saved Riker and killed Kaitana.

“It’s tough to win when it seems the universe is against you.”

The Romulans were decloking over K’trail.

The Glory was helping the Enterprise fight the Romulans.

“Life without risk is merely an existence.”
