Two Front War

Being on the new frontier is always exciting. However wars are tragic. In StarTrek: New Frontier: The Two Front War by John J. Ordover and Peter David which is 152 pages long was began on Sunday January 9, 2014. I finished the book on Thursday July 8, 2014.

The Excalibur was fighting an unknown vassal.  This was its maiden voyage. The ship took on Refugees and was fighting with their oppressors. The Alien sector is at the mercy of scavengers. They needed someone from the cargo ship, which was besides the Excalibur to vouch for their good name and show they truly were on a mission of good will, to the other vessel.

The Excalibur encountered an alien vessel and communicated they would contact them in three minutes, however the Alien Vessel didn't respond. The channel opened and they said they were communicating with there lead ship. The Aliens were peaceful and never had war.
They were a scavenger race.

Part 2
Si Cwan

Zoran was going to lie to Excalubur about their status, but was advised against it by Rojam. The Excalibur destroyed the Marquand and the passengers were all going to the emergency pods. They were going to flush the enemy out. They believed they were on board. Kebron always thinks there is a problem, he says it saves time and energy and lives. They were being fired on by a Starfleet vessel. The runabout spiraled out of control.

Ci Swan had a huge gash on her head. The Marqui ship was hit by phaser fire and destroyed. Si Cwan was dead. She was the only one on board. The others were on a station.

Burgoyne was duel gendered. Burgoyne was attracted to Seler. They met Tholians. The Tholians were going to kill them when they got them. Cwan was almost hit by a plasma burst gun, his jacket was though. Dackow was chasing Cwan. Ci Swan followed Keborn after her altercation with Dackow.

Zoran wanted ten minutes to hunt Ci Swan, then he gave Dakow permission to blow it up. Dr. Selar asked Soleta to come to sickbay, but neither her nor the captain knew why. The away team found a party that greeted them. This place reminded them to a Borg cube, however it was less organized.

This place was like a warehouse of all assimilated technology throughout the galaxy.

Soleta and Selar were in sickbay. Then relocated to the doctors baron quarters. Dr. Soleta asked Selor to grant her Succor. Soleta released Selor from her promise. Selors mom discovered a crashed Romulan vassal and wound up bearing his child. Her father became a smuggler.

Soleta was a product of rape. Soletas mother's dying wish was that she return to Starfleet. Soleta met Voltok during the meld, but never met him in real life.

Zorbon found a bomb but refused to disarm it, because he swore he would not get involved in the war. Cwan released him from that promise and Zorbon defused the bomb. Zorbon couldn't defuse it and the ship blew up. Hufmin asked Calhun for there technology in exchange of the Refugees Calhun brought. Laheera killed Hufmin because of that. They will kill the refugees once an hour until they cooperate. Calhoon ended by promising to blow up the planet once they were done killing the refugees.

ST: TOS: The Lost Years

ST: TOS: The Lost Years is by J.M. Dillard. I began Thursday August 16, 2018.
I completed it on January 21, 2019.

Zukal, high priest of Vulcan, was dying.

"All creatures must prey on others, and compete among themselves; this is the way of survival, the way of life." ST: The Lost Years P. 9

The Enterprise was retuning home--Sulu would receive a promotion--then captaincy. Kirk sponsored Spock's promotion. Spock got asked to teach at the Academy as well. Kirk didn't know why he hadn't received orders yet. He was promised the Victorious. But then they were rescinded. Kirk is being asked to join a Starfleet Diplomatic last resort team.

"Starfleet is expanding to rapidly. There's been too much emphasis on soliciting new members and not enough attention paid to those experiencing internal difficulties. Starfleet doesn't want to talk about Federation members who are disgruntled and want out--but that's what I'm talking about. A very special diplomatic task force....a diplomatic last resort." ST: The Lost Years P. 81

Spock resigned from StarFleet and accepted a teaching position on Vulcan. McCoy was talking to Nogura about how he didn't believe they made a right decision in promoting Kirk.

"Telepathic ability is latent in most humans since the evolutionary trend favored the development of oral speech." ST: The Lost Years P. 134

"Adventures often involve responsibility and, sometimes, death." ST: The Lost Years P. 151

Spock gave Uhura a Vulcan harp.

"What was, was. There is no point in agitating oneself over what one can control." ST: The Lost Years P. 201

Uhura awoke drugged in a prison.

"We all experience a hundred premonitions a day, but most of them never come true. The one time one does, it's simply chance." ST: The Lost Years P. 205

Seker, Spock's oldest friend refused to take leave from Spock. He simply said he was busy and to come back that night. Taking leave was a time honored tradition between two Vulcans that wrapped up any loose ends in their acquaintance. McCoy's girlfriend Gynndellin saw his and Spock's death in a terot reading. She was immensely concerned. Spock said Keridwen was "an esper-blind" someone who could telepathically shut people out. McCoy awoke and found himself taken prisoner on a scout ship, by a Romulan spy, Zakal.

"Religion was a tool created by the state to control the simple minded. Only fools believed in anything higher than themselves. Religion was to be tolerated but never taken to seriously." ST: The Lost Years PP. 256-257

Uhura and Serek were captured by the Djani and given food. Uhura was thankful she was captured with a Vulcan Ambassador. The Djani were talking about putting them to death. Serek misunderstood them and they were spared. McCoy was taken hostage by Sekar on a scout ship.

Zakel of Shanai Kahr- had powers to kill his enemies with thought, this started the Vulcan/Romulan divide. McCoy awoke to find he was abandoned on the scout. A Tellerite took the scout from McCoy abandoning him

On Arcturan each building was veiled by its own force field. McCoy met three women who helped him get a massage to Starfleet. McCoy got help from Ziza and Rrk to get a comm signal. Ziza transformed into Zakel and cut the communication .

"Dijanai are extremely religious--which makes them very difficult to deal with-and apparently they believe the only way to bargain is in person their religion scorns technology; like our Amish, they believe their God wants them to keep it simple." ST Lost Years P .314

"Unrestrained mercy leads to weakness and allows evil to flourish." ST Lost Years P. 334

Kirk was meeting with a Dijanai, beamed out to a Romulan outpost and communication was lost. Spock, Kerdiwin, and T'Sai were rescuing McCoy.
Kirk was kidnapped by the same people that kidnapped Uhura. Nogura was in contact with Jim. They were rescuing Uhura and Serek.

Jim was going to try to finish negotiations.

Jim found Kels quarters and was going to talk to him. Kel put Kirk in contact with The Djanni Circle of Elders, to discuss peace between the Federation and the Djanni. McCoy and Zekar were imprisoned by the Romulans. The dying T'sal gave her katra to Dwen to help her get on the Romulan ship and acheive the mission.

"Once your mind is joined to that of the Ancient One, the Other, the possibility exists that you will never be able to separate them from each other...and your minds will be locked together so long as your bodies live. Mind-meld has never been attempted with one who is an esper-blind, because of the danger involved. I cannot be sure of the outcome." ST The Lost Years p. 401

Dwen died on the Klingon Bird of Prey. McCoy felt guilty. Spock left McCoy.

Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide

I began this novel on Sunday April 16, 2016. I competed it on Friday June 9, 2016. It had 388 pages. "What am I now that I was then? May memories restore again and again, the smallest color of the smallest day: time is the school in which we learn, time is the fire in which we burn." Delmore Schwartz Eden and Chakotay had some friction due to the fact that StarFleet chose her to captain Voyager Once she assumed command she gave it back to Chakotay. Chakotay's sister was in disagreement with him about his service in StarFleet and she was dismayed about Janeway's death. They're on their way to New Talex for a party hosted by Neelix. Home-free was the shuttle B'lanna built. Eden was raised by unknown uncles who had mysterious Starfleet records. She was born on a planet outside Federation space, the only survivor of her species "Having the power to do something butdens us with ultimate and frightening responsibilities." "Just because we can do a thing doesn't mean we should." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Amanda Q was upset that time travel took so long. "A small black box known as a prism, when focused by a Q, it had the adility to bend time in such a way as to allow one to witness the events of any timeline." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Janeway's death became fixed when she went back to rescue Voyager "As ever it seemed nature followed certain paths, even across vast distances." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Amanda went on a ship and saw a senile old man talking to himself. Amanda was born of two Q parents who left the Continuum to become human "But there is a moment in every sentient beings existence, between life and its end, when they remain intact but are no longer bound by the rules of normal space and time." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "You know, as I do, that death is merely a transitional state. The energy of a lifeforce cannot be destroyed, only released into the universe, unhindered by physical form." Kes: Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "You have to intervene in any matter/energy transformation process you want to question. I'm sure that you also know, so do I, that is a risky proposition that can produce significant disruptions to the wider tapestry of time and space." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Kes agreed to help get Janeway back if she could. Seven had an outer-body experience, where she saw someone ask for Voyagers aid. Eden goes down to a planet without telling anyone, and they have to save her. The Doctor and Cambridge go down to retrieve Eden. Eden had been at a burial site and was used as a conduit for the dead which freaked her out "The entire cosmos, every atom that exists, is now visible to you. Allow yourself to see them for what they are, and soon enough you will find those that once belonged to you." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "You were created of love and light. You are more powerful in your perfect form then any that was formed before you. See yourself as you ought to be not as you become." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Kes helped Janeway become human again and greeted her as she awoke "History has taught us that no society built on exploitation of individuals can long endure." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "Some things were so unknowable, no fears could do them justice." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "Love always came with risks, but they were worth taking." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide The anomaly caused the ships to be trapped between two realities. Each ship was getting destroyed. "With so many fascinating topics, we've still missed one of the most significant." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "For two people responsible for so many lives, love is too much to risk." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Janeway told Chakotay, 7, Tom, Kim and B'Lannna about her rebirth and they were all thrilled and shocked to see her They agreed to keep her resurrection under wraps until the crisis was averted "You believe that there is some conscious force ordering events such that regardless of our actions, across all timeliness, Voyager or perhaps just you, Admiral, are fated to confront this anomaly at this precise moment." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "We form with one another, we create ties, and we share experiences that bind us, but there are precious few relationships that go deep enough to allow us to truly be known by one another." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Voyager connected with Jobin on the Quirnel. The anomaly is a living black hole eating the universe. Asfarah Eden is a representation of all the multi-verse in human form. In order to destroy the Omega Continuum, the Q-Continuum needs to be destroyed. Q went to Earth to get Icheb, who was in his last year of the academy. Eden discovered she had the powers to kill Q and the Q-Continuum. Q's going to help them get rid of the Omega Continuum. They chose Chakotay to pilot the shuttle into the Omega Continuum. Chakotay went inside Omega. He failed to close it, it expanded rapidly. "We don't accept the unacceptable. We don't give up, even when it seems all hope has been lost. We fight with our last ounce of strength to resist the tide, never knowing when we will finally overcome, but believing in the end that it is possible." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide The entire Q Continuum had appeared to help Janeway and Voyager against Omega Icheb appeared in a busy corridor on Voyager Q was his guide Q's son saved Janeway from Eden "It's not everyone who gets to save their race along with the entire multi-verse." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Q brought Chakotay back "There are days when you get to do the saving, and there are days when you are the one being saved. To run away now, to let grief consume you, to waste the chance they gave us --now that would be wrong." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide Paris and Torres were going to have another child. "Coming that close to death often inspires people to immediately reach for whatever makes them feel most alive." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide "The problem with focusing on the whole board is that it forces you to draw lines that don't truly exist." Startrek Voyager: The Eternal Tide yeremiah@aol.com Yeremiah Hardt

Star Trek: The Next Generation: Cold Equations: Book II: Silent Weapons

I started this novel on Saturday July 29, 20 2017. I completed it on Saturday November 4, 2017. "All men are brothers--until the rent is due." The Next Generation: Silent Weapons Data was traveling under the name Danial Soong. Andoria seceded from the Federation. Crusher dropped Rene off at daycare. "Great victories, by definition, entail great risks, and the adventure of ours is no different. If we want to take the future's reins, we'll need to make me terrible sacrifices. Above all, each of our pawns must know as little as possible about the grand illusion we're about to conjure." Picard talked with Beverly about leaving the Enterprise for Rene's sake, and was all for it which surprised Beverly. "Grudges are nothing but dead weight." The Chief of Security, of the USS Atlas, Ortel, got arrested for disorderly conduct an adult entertainment center The Atlas just found Soong type energy on the planet Data was captured by Starfleet Intelligence but sent a message out to LaForge right before he was taken into custody Data's in custody on Orion for the presumed death of Commander Tohm "People don't rebel when they're happy and treated fairly." The Next Generation: Silent Weapons Picard's talking to Brocco, the president of StarFleet about Data. "There is nothing but the now, and you either ruled the now or it ruled you." The Next Generation: Silent Weapons LaForge and Smorhova got tape to clear Data of killing Tohm. Kol Pollus, a custodian at the Orion bank would help LaForge and Smorhova get information about Data. Worf and Dygon are at a party on Orion. Picard shielded Crusher when a bomb exploded, instead of President Bacco. Evidence of a Soong type droid was at the bombing. Data's being released. Picard got permission to have a team from the Enterprise assist with the autopsy of the presidents chief of staff LaForge shot the android on Orion. Data saved Bacco. yeremiah@aol.com Yeremiah Hardt

NATIONAL DRIVE-IN MOVIE DAY

National Drive-In Movie Day on June 6th each year commemorates the day the first drive-in theater opened. Richard M. Hollingshead Jr. of Camden, New Jersey created the drive-in theater and he opened the first one on June 6, 1933. At this first drive-in theater, the screen was 40 feet by 50 feet and there were 400 car slots. The advertising slogan used was, “The whole family is welcome, regardless of how noisy the children are.” An Adolphe Meniou film, Wife Beware, was the first film shown. The idea caught on quickly and drive-ins began to pop up in other areas, too. By the late 1950s, approximately 4,000 drive-ins dotted the United States. According to thenewswheel.com, New York, Pennsylvania, and Ohio have the best opportunity for movie viewing under the stars. Copiague, Long Island, New York once was home to one of the largest drive-in theaters. The drive-in covered over 29 acres and could park 2,500 vehicles. It also hosted a full-service restaurant with rooftop seating, a trolley system to take children and adults to the playground, and a large indoor theater in case of bad weather. However, the invention of color television, VCRs, and video rentals along with the increase in land values and the widespread adoption of daylight saving time, led to a sharp decline in the drive-in popularity. For a comprehensive list of drive-in theaters still in operation today, visit driveinmovie.com for locations by state. Startrek: The Next Generation Body Electric

Began Sunday November 5, 2015

Wesley heard psychic screams of terror. He witnessed a black hole swallow surrounding stars. Data's searching for Lol. He put Juliena on his ship and sent her to safety

"Training keeps a warrior sharp." Worf

StarFleet offerered Worf command but he refused. Wesley told the Travelers about the destruction to the universe he had just witnessed--chaos ensued. He saw his mentor and asked whats going on. They tried to stop the machines but couldn't. Wesley's gone to try to take the machines on alone. Q sent him to talk with Picard. Akharin, the Immortal, was being held prisoner by the machines. They wanted to learn how to make a positronic matrix. Akharin agreed to save his daughter.

Data met with a robotic spider on a planet. The robot mistook him for his father. Wesley interupted a monotonous  staff meeting to his mothers relief. Wesley led the crew of the Enterprise to the Machines.

Picard wanted an armada of ships and StarFleet approved it, but Wesley said it will be to strenuous on him to mask an armada of ships verses one.

"In times of danger and combat, soldiers often fight not for their people or their ship, or even their unit, but for their friends and kin who stand beside them." Worf

Wesley was in a universe where he met duplicates of himself and had to fight them for survival.

The Enterprise made it to the machine's core and found Wesley's ship, they were transporting it aboard. They identified the Machine as an ancestor of V'Ger, a probe that was launched in the mid-twentieth century& went through a wormhole &was reprogrammed by AI to destroy life and collect data. Worf and the away team made first contact with Body-Electric. Body-Electric called carbon units not true life forms. Taurik, the Vulcan security officer on the away mission, got Body-Electric give its current directives and task parameters.

Picard and the crew were going to start to communicate with the machines. Data found Akharin. Data was lead from his cell, but before he promised the Immortal he would save Rea, his daughter.
The Enterprise needs to find Data to talk to the Machine-Electric Body. LaForge asked Data for help, but he couldn't since he was in the Machine Electric. Wesley offered to save Rene and Beverly but Beverly refused. Data got control of Gatt with Nanites. Rhea was asking Data what was next for them after they escaped. Data wants Rhea to help him raise Lol. Data had a choice to let Rhea live or die, or have Alkerin live or die, he chose Alkerin. Data is back aboard the Enterprise. Picard and the crew are glad he is safe. Data is fixing Gatt and then he let him go, because Gatt wasn't in control of his actions while under the control of the Body Electric.

"In the distant future, the expansion of the universe will separate galaxies and eventually even stars, by such and ever growing distances that for an observer in any given system the rest of the cosmos will look dark and completely empty. Even now there are parts of our universe beyond our view. This limit of the observable universe is the cosmic light horizon."

"We create to deny the inevitability of our own obliviation."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet

I began this book on Thursday November 15, 2019 and finished Wednesday January 15, 2020. It was by Madeleine L'Engle. It contained 197pp. It is the third story in the Wrinkle in Time trilogy. This book was written in 1978.

Meg and Calvin got married. Meg was preparing a Thanksgiving dinner for the Twins, Sandy and Dennys. Dennys had become a doctor. Meg was pregnant.

"Charles Wallace and his father were deep in concentration, bent over the model they were building of  tesseract: the square squared, and squared again: a construction of the dimension of time. It was a beautiful and creation of steel wires and ball bearings and Lucite,  parts of it revolving, parts of it swinging like pendulums."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 404

"Thanksgiving dinner is practically the only meal Mother cooks in the kitchen--instead of out in the lab on her Bunsen burner. Not that we're criticizing, after all those Bunsen-burner stews did lead directly to the Nobel Prize." Scientists of any nature, have a difficult time separating their work, from their family life. They tend to merge them through no fault of their own, it is just circumstance."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet pp. 405-406

Fortinbras died a good death. Mr. Murry said, if a dog doesn't find them soon then they will look for a dog.

"It was not the usual place for Mr. Murry to receive a call from the president. Over the years he had been consulted by the White House on matters of physics and space travels and other conversations had been serious, many disturbing, but this, Meg felt was different, was causing the warm room to feel colder, look less bright."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 409

"We are responsible for the acutely serious oil and coal shortages, the defoliation of the trees, the grave damage to the atmosphere, and he is going to make us pay."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet pp. 411-412

"Farandolea are so minuscule and insignificant that it doesn't seem that they could have any importance, and yet they can live in a symbiotic relationship with mitochondria--"

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 415

"And mitochondria provide us with our energy, so if anything affects our farandolea that can affect our mitochondria--"

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 415

"We've forgotten what's worth saving and what's not, or we wouldn't be in this mess."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 416

"And the sun with its brightness,
And the snow with its whiteness,
And the fire with all the strength it hath--"

Mrs. O'Keefe

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 417

"And the-the lightning with it rapid warmth,
And the winds with their swiftness upon the path--
And the sea with its deepens,
And the rocks with their steepness
And the earth with its starkness--
All these I place.
By Gods almighty help and grace,
Between myself and the powers of darkness."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 418

"You know my dears, the world has been abnormal for so long that we've forgotten what it's like to live in a peaceful and reasonable climate. If there is to be any peace or reason, we have to create it in our hearts and homes."

Mr. Murry

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 424

"Strength can always be used to destroy as well as create. The fire is to help and heal."

Charles Wallace

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 426

"Sleep, in any event was far away, lost somewhere in that time which had shattered by the president's phone call."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 428

"It was as though too much conscious intensity of thinking made her brain rigid and closed, and if she breathed slowly and deeply it opened up and memories and thoughts were freed to come to her consciousness where she could share them with Charles Wallace."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 430

"Kything was being was able to be with someone else, no matter how far they might be, was talking in a language that was deeper than words. Charles Wallace was born with this gift, slowly Meg became able to read the thoughts he sent her, to know what he wanted her to know. Kything went far beyond ordinary ESP and while it came to Charles Wallace as naturally as breathing, for Meg it took intense concentration. Charles Wallace and Calvin were the only two people Meg could give and receive this language that went far beyond words."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 433

They found a dog. Charles Wallace named her Anada which means that joy in existence without which the universe will fall apart and collapse.

"I am not real. And yet in a sense I am the only reality."

Gaudin

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 442

"There are many who would like to let you wipe yourselves out, except it would affect us all; who knows what might happen? And as long as their are a few who belong to the Old Music, you are still brothers and sisters."

Gaudior

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 443

"Has the world lost it's joy? Is that why we're in such a mess?"

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 445

"The breaking of the harmony was pain, was brutal anguish, but the harmony kept rising above the pain, and the joy would pulse with light, and the light and dark once more knew eachother, and were part of the joy."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 447

"For unicorns it is easier to move about in time than in space. Until we learn more what we are meant to do, I am more comfortable in the same Where."

Gaudior

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 449

Charles Wallace was being called to go into somebody's body. Kything is like going in someone else.

"There is always a moment when there is a Might-Have-Been."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 452

"Before the harmonies were broken, unicorns and winds danced together with joy and no fear. Now there are Echthroi who are greedy for the wind, as for all else. So there are times when they ride the wind and turn it into a tornado, and you had better be grateful we didn't ride one of those--it's always a risk. But we did come to when I wanted to give us a little time to catch our breaths."

Gaudior

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 452-453

"Everything that happens in the created order, no matter how small, has its effect. If you are angry that anger is added to all the hate with which the Echthroi will destrot the melody and destroy the ancient harmonies. When you are loving that lovingness joins the music of the spheres."

Gaudior

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 457

"The People of the Wind were gentle and harmonious. On rare occasions when there was a difference of opinion it was mediated by the Harmonizer, and his judgment was always accepted. Fish were caught, flesh shot with a bow and arrow, never more than needed. Each person in the tribe knew what they were born to do, and no gift was considered greater or less than another. The Harmonizer held a position no more lofty than the youngest cook just learning to build a fire or clean a fish."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 458-459

Charles Wallace and Gaudior were blown into a projection, which is a future the Echthroi want to make real

"Whatever the Echthroi wanted to make real would be something fearful."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 464

"They moved through the time- spinning reaches of the far galaxy and he realized that the galaxy itself was part of a mighty orchestra, and each star and planet within the galaxy added it's own instruments to the music of the spheres. As long as the ancient harmonies were sung, the universe would not entirely lose its joy."

Gaudior

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 467-468

Gaudior commanded Charles Wallace to sing to stay awake

"They hide the dead even from themselves, that their spirits may not come to the lake and keep the fish away."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 476

"We do not fear the spirits of the dead. When there has been love during life, why should that change after death? When one departs we have a feast of honor, and then we send the spirit to its journey amongst the stars. On clear nights we feel the singing of their love."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 476-477

"The people of the Wind are people of peace. Always we have lived in amenity with those Across the Lake."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 483

"Again the face grew larger and larger in the dark oval was no longer a face of a baby, but a man with an arrogant and angry Mein."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 486

"You will do good for your people, El Zaron, Little Blue Eyes. Your eyes are an omen, a token for peace. The prayer has been answered in your blue for mirth, blue for birth."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 487

"I keep almost remembering, and then its as if someone slams a door on my memory."

Charles Wallace A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 493

"Echthroi, probably. They try to block anything that might be a clue to the Might-Have-Been they don't want you to discover."

Gaudior A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 443

In 1865 the Ku Klux Klan was founded and Alice in Wonderland was written, Rudyard Kipling was born, and Valaine wrote Poemes Saturniens, John Stuart Mill wrote Auguste Lomete and Positivism, and Purdue, Cornell and the Universities of Maine were founded, Matthew Maddox The Horn of Joy

Future influencing the past

"It's less dangerous to go elsewhen first, than to try to go elsewhen and elsewhere simultaneously."

Gaudior A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 500

"I have learned from The People of The Wind that 'tis no harm to hold a secret in the heart."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 505

"It's old, very old, the prayer for a blue-eyed baby to keep the strength of the prince from the sea within the Wind People, and the words may have changed over the years. And I have changed for I have made my life with white people, as the Golden Prince made his with the Wind People. For live he stayed with the princess of strange land, and made her way his way. For love I leave my people and stay with Ritchie, and my love is deep, deep, for me to be able to leave my home. I sing the prayer because it is in my blood, and must be sung; and yet I wonder if my child will be able to know the Indian half of himself?"

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 509

"Hate never did anyone any good."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 513

"Change is the way of the world."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 513

Ritchie Clawcue just had a boy

He was named Brandon

"People are afraid of knowledge that is not yet their own."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 518

"People do not like other people to be different."

Goody Lawcae

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 518

"The very stars sing as they turn in their heavenly dance, sing praise of the one who created them."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 523

"With Zylle in his fateful hour
I call on the Heavons with its power
And the sun with its brighness,
And the snow with its whiteness,
And the fire with all the strength it hath,
And the lightning with its rapid wrath."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 532

"Anger is not bitterness. Bitterness can go on eating a man's heart and mind forever. Anger spends itself in it's own time."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 535

"Gaudior's breath came in silver steamers. He had folded his wings into his flanks to prevent the Echthroid Wind from breaking them. Boy and unicorn were flung through the endless time and space."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 542

Gaudior was unconscious from their journey, within space and time but then awoke in the middle of an ocean.

"Nothing really has to taste that disagreeable. But then I am not accustomed to any food except starlight and moonlight."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet  Gaudior p. 551

Gaudior took Charles to the hatching ground. Not all unicorns come from eggs only time traveling ones. Gaudior gave Charles Wallace an icicle with healing properties. Charles Wallace rolled in the healing snow then asked Gaudior where all the other Unicorns were.

"Only the time travelers come to the hatching ground, and during the passage of the small moon they can be about other business, for the small moon casts its warmth on the eggs. I brought you here, to this place, and at this moon so we'd be alone."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet Gaudior p. 554

"Some of them think mankind is deadly."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet Gaudior p.555

"Those of us that have been around the galaxies know that such thinking is foolish. It's always easy to blame others. And I have learned being with you, that many of my preconceptions about mortals were wrong."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet Gaudior p.555

Charles Wallace witnessed the birth of a unicorn .

"Stories are like children. They grow old in their own way."
A Swiftly Tilting Planet
Grandma Maddox p. 568

"Hate hurts the hater more in the hated."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet
Grandma Maddox p. 591

Mortman pushed Chuck down the stairs because Chuck defended Beezie from him.

""Charles Wallace!" He listened. The voice sounded like Gaudior, and yet it was not Gaudior, and he no longer saw the silver beauty of the unicorn nor the light of the horn. Nothing was visable, not even darkness. Something was happening, and he did not know what. He was still within Chuck, and yet he was intensely conscious of himself as Charles Wallace and something was pulling him.""

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 589

"Slowly the rampant, out of control speed lessened, and the planet resumed its normal pace. Colors stopped their kaleidoscopic dance and stayed in place. Smells became identifiable once more: coffee; bread; apples. Beezie: the gold was not as brilliant as it had been, but it was still Beezie. And their mother: the blue was cloudy now, hardly blue at all, closer to the grey of the rain clouds, Grandma: where is Grandma's smell? Why is their emptiness? Where is the green?"

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 602

"Lords of blue and Lords of gold,
Lords of winds and waters wild,
Lords of time that's growing old,
When will come the season mild?
When will come blue Madoc's child?"

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 606

"Chuck walked through a spring evening, smelling of growing grass, and blossoms drifting from the trees. He walked over the fields, over the brook, drinking the water rushing with melting snow, lifting his head, clambering to his feet, going on to the flat rock. Pain walked with him, and their was a dark veil of clouds between his eyes and the world. If a chair was pulled out of place he walked into it. Trees and rocks did not move; he felt safer at that rock than anywhere else."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 607

"As the veil deepened and darkened, his inner vision lightened. When the weather was fine he kay out on the rock all day, looking up toward the sky and seeing pictures, pictures more vivid than anything he had seen with unveiled eyes. His concentration was so intense that he became part of what was happening in the pictures. Sometimes in the evenings he told Beezie about them, pretending they were dreams, in order not to upset her."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet Chuck p. 609

"Lords of space and Lords of time,
Lords of blessing, Lord of grace,
Who is in the warmer clime?
Who will follow Madoc's rhyme?
Blue will alter time and space."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 610

"I went to war, thinking of myself as Galahad, out to free fellow human beings from intolerable bondage of slavery. But it wasn't as simple as that. There were other, less pure issues being faught over, with little concern for the souls which would perish for nothing more grand than political greed, corruption, and conniving power."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 626-627

"ymdroi gyda diflastod as anabaith madog wrth ystried cyflwar guladei ededigaeth, lle'r oedd br

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 630

"Slavery is evil, God knows, but war is evil, for evil, evil."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 631

"We're still bleeding from the wounds. It's a primordial pattern, left us from Cain and Abel, a net we can't seem to break out of. And unless it is checked it will destroy us entirely."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 637

"What happens in one time, can make a difference in what happen in another time,  far more than we realize."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 639

"As the days begins to lengthen, the cold begins to strengthen."

Matthew Maddox
A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 640

Matt gave Zillow money to go to Vesputa and be with Bran.

"What happens in one time can make a difference in what happens  in another, far more than we realize."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 639

"Nothing, no one, is too small to matter. What you do is going to make a difference."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 639

"Lords of melody and song,
Lords of roses burning bright,
Blue and right the ancient wrongs,
Tough the way is dark and long,
Blue will shine with loving light."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 647

Meg and Mrs. O'Keefe found Charles Wallace white as death on the star-watching rock.

"I place all Heaven with it's power,
And the Sun with its brightness,
And the snow with its whiteness,
And the fire with all the strength it hath,
And the lightning with it rapid wrath,
And the wind with their swiftness along their path,
And the sea with its deepness,
And the rocks with their steepness,
And the earth with its starkness,
All these I place,
By God's almighty, help and grace,
Between myself and the powers of darkness."

A Swiftly Tilting Planet p. 651

This was the finale in the trilogy of The Wrinkle in Time set. I found it apealing and it led me to a lot of new ideas and aspects. In reading the set I found the growth of the characters as well as myself was a pure flow and joy in the moment.

Dark Matter

I started reading Dark Matter Wednesday June 26, 2019 and finished reading it on July 17, 2019. It has 340 pages. It was by Blake Crouch. He is a bestselling novelist and screenwriter. He is the co-creator of Good Behavior on TNT based on his Letty Dobesh novels. His novels have been translated into more than thirty languages and have sold over a million copies. Blake lives in Colorado with his family.

"What might have been and what has been point to one end, which is always present. Footfalls echo in the memory
Down the passage which we did not take
Towards the door we never opened"
T.S. Elliot "Burnt Norton"

"One thing to raise a little boy, another entirely when a person on the brink of adulthood looks at you for wisdom."

Dark Matter Blake Crouch p. 3

In saying that I realize that we all have our own gifts to share and should be respected for that. We all are a mixture of our different facets we take on in life.

After talking with Ryan about the future he could've had Jason got hit by a car but survived. Which brings into question is this whole story of a comatose victim or did it actually occur?

"It's a beautiful thing about youth. There's a weightlessness that permeates everything because no damming choices have been made, no path committed to and the road forking out is pure unlimited potential." Dark Matter Blake Crouch p. 10

A childlike wonder which possesses the youthful children  who are forever in their youth and refuse to grow up. These are the new aged youth which are most alive at night and sleep in the day.

Jason is taking hostage and forced to drive somewhere by a masked man. He  tries to text his wife for help but the abductor catches him. The abductor forces Jason to strip when he vacates his car.

"The dead don't feel fear or pain." Blake Crouch Dark Matter p. 24

There is no proof for this either way. When you die, your body loses all feeling, however you may still feel in thought essence.

Jason escapes, and runs, but has no clue where he is running. He arrives at a beach of Lake Michigan. He gets in a cab and finally goes home. Jason is dropped off at a house very similar to his house but not his own. Jason calls Daniala's cellphone number, a man answers and tells him not to call anymore. Lighton catches up with Jason.

"All things being equal, the simplest solution tends to be right." Dark Matter Blake Crouch p. 58

This is usually the case, but it defies all logic. Logic is not always truth, however truth is logically sound.

Jason goes to the ER a few blocks away. He feels like he's being hollowed out the morning after. The doctor calls Jason's brother Michael.

"Experimental physics -- hell all of science--is about solving problems. However, you can't solve them all at once. There's always a larger, overarching question--the big target. But if you obsess on the sheer enormity of it you lose focus."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch pp. 79-80

You have to focus on a single aspect if not you will be overwhelmed with your lifes experience. You can't achieve any of the miraculous outcomes if you are overwhelmed.

"The key is to start small. Focus on solving problems you can answer. Build some dry ground to stand on. And after you've put in the work, and if you're lucky, the mystery of the overarching question becomes knowable. Like stepping slowly back from a photo montage to witness the ultimate image revealing itself."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 80

In life it is good to be driven, but not to the point of insanity. Everyone has to balance themselves through art or some creative means, and when you do this, your masterpiece begins to unfold in front of you.

"We're all just wandering through the tundra of our existence assigning values to worth lessness, when all that we love and hate, all we believe in fight for and kill for and die for is as meaningless as images projected in Plexiglas."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 85

"Nothing exists. All is a dream. God-man-the world-the sun-the moon the wilderness of stars-a dream; they have no existence. Nothing exists save empty space-and you....And you are not you --you have no body, no blood, no bones, you are but thought." Mark Twain
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 85

"We all live day to day, completely oblivious to the fact that we're part of a much larger and stranger version of reality than we can imagine."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 96

Someone kills this version of Daniella

"It's terrifying when you consider every thought we have, every choice we could possibly make branches off into a new world. Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 112

"It's a mystery. But there are clues. Most astrophysicists believe that the force holding stars and galaxies together--the thing that makes our whole universe work--comes from a theoretical substance we can't measure or observe directly. Some thing they call dark matter. And this dark matter makes up most of the known universe."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 112

"Some string theorists think dark matter might be a clue to the existence of a multiverse."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 112

"Imagine you're a fish, swimming in a pond. You can move forward and back, side to side, but never up out of the water. If someone we're standing beside the pond, watching you you'd have no idea they were there. To you that little pond is an entire universe. Now imagine if someone reaches down and lifts you out of the pond. You see that what you thought was your entire world is only a small pool. You see other ponds. Trees. The sky above. You realize you're a part of a larger and more mysterious reality than you had ever dreamed of."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 113

"So if the world really splits whenever something is observed, that means there's an unimaginable, massive, infinite number of universes--a multiverse--where everything that can happen will happen."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 123

"I don't get it. If you wanted to put a particle in a quantum state, you'd create a deprivation chamber. Remove all the light, suck out the air, turn the temperature to a fraction of a degree above absolute zero. It would kill a human being. And the larger you go, the more fragile it all becomes. Even though we're underground, there are all sorts of particles--neutrinos, cosmic rays--passing through that cube that could disturb a quantum state. The challenge seems insurmountable."
Blake Crouch
Dark Matter p. 124

"We perceive our environment in three-dimensions, but we don't actually live in a 3-D world. 3-D is static.  A snapshot. We have to add a fourth dimension to begin to describe the nature of our existence. The 4-D tesseract doesn't add a spatial dimension. It adds a temporal one. It adds time, a stream of 3-D cubes, representing space as it moves along times arrow. This is best illustrated by looking up into the night sky at stars whose brilliance took fifty light-years to reach our eyes. Or five hundred.Or five billion. We,re not just looking into space, we're looking back through time. Our path through this 4-D reality is our worldline (reality) beginning with our birth and ending with our death.Four coordinates (x,y,z and t [time]) locate a point within the tesseract. And we think it stops there, but that's only true if every outcome is inevitable, if free will is an illusion, and our worldline is solitary. What if our worldline is just one in an infinite number of worldlines, some only slightly altered from the life we know, others drastically different? The Many-Worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics posits that all possible realities exist. That everything that has a probability of happening is happening. Everything that might have occurred in our past did occur, only in another universe. What if that's true? What if we live in a fifth-dimensional probability space? What if we actually inhabit the multiverse, but our brains have evolved in such a way to equip us with a firewall that limits what we perceive to a single universe? Our worldline. The one we choose, moment to moment. It makes sense if you think about it. We couldn't possibly contend with simultaneously observing all possible realities at once. So how do we access this 5-D probability space? And if we could where would it take us."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
pp. 131-132

Lighton holds Ryan hostage to get Jason to confess the truth about what happened to him inside the box that transported him to this dimension. They drug Jason because he won't talk. Jason awoke with Ryan. After Ryan is dragged from the cell the other Jason appears from this universe. Amanda enters the room to inform Jason that they killed Ryan.

Amanda gets him out, but can't use her access cod to enter the room so they use Jason's. Amanda goes with Jason to his universe.

"The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 151

Josh and Amanda find themselves in a blizzard of ash.

"It's a one in a billion chance, but we're dealing with the multiverse. With infinity. Maybe there are a million worlds like yours, where I never figured it out. But all it takes is one where I did."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 159

"Let's assume assume the multiverse began with a single event--the Big Bang. That's the starting point, the base of the trunk of the most immense, elaborate tree you could fathom. As time unfolded and matter began to organize into stars and planets in all possible permutations, this tree sprouted branches, and the branches sprouted branches, and on and on, until somewhere, fourteen billion years down the line, my birth triggered a new branch. And from that moment, every choice I made or didn't make, and the actions of others that affected me--those all gave rise to more branches, to an infinite number of Jason Dessens, living in parallel worlds, some very similar to the one I call home,  some mind-bogglingly different."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 164

Jason and Amanda find doubles of themselves.

They kill Amanda in front of her. Jason and Amanda travel through a house. The people in the house didn't freeze to death, they starved.

"You can't hold on to this as you open a new door. You have to find a way to let it go."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 180

"When you write something, you focus your full attention  on it. It's almost impossible to write one thing while thinking of another. The act of putting it on paper keeps your thoughts and intentions aligned."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 186

On the El train they took they were strapped in by mechanical arms which held their wrists and legs in place for safety. Jason and Amanda go to a skyscraper where they can see four states on a clear day Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin. They meet this worlds version of Jason.

"I wonder, Is this what God feels like? The rush that comes from literally having spoken the world into existence? And yes this world already existed, but I connected us to it. Out of all the possible worlds, I found this one, and it's exactly, at least from the doorway of the box, what I wanted."

Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 193

They just stole a car. Their the only car on the interstate. Amanda and Jason get to Jason's house. Daniella says that their son is dead and this version of Jason is dead.

Their followed in a high speed chase after leaving Daniella dead. They go to another world. Jason starts sobbing uncontrollably. Amanda tries to help him

"The subconscious marches to it's own beat."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 214

"What a strange thing to consider imagining a world into being with nothing but words, intentions, and desires."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 214

"If you strip away all the personality and lifestyle, what are the core components that make you you?"
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 218

"You know how a dream feels the further you get from it? It loses its color and intensity and logic. Your emotional connection to it fades." Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 221

Jason talks to  Daniala in an art gallery and asks her to get coffee, but then rescinds the offer.

"Identity isn't binary. It's multi-faceted."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 227

Jason calls Daniala and finds out Charlie is going to be a big brother.

"Until everything topples, we have no idea what we actually have, how previously and perfectly it all hangs together."
Blake Crouch
Dark Matter p. 230

Amanda leaves. Jason gets beat up by teens as he walks home. They take his backpack and rip his clothes. They leave only 3 ampoules, which are the pills to help find his dimension. He sees this world's copy of himself.
That Jason gives him $15 on his eighth day there.

"We associate reality with the tangible--everything we can experience with our senses."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 240

"Separation and isolation are an illusion."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 245

Jason plans on killing the version of him within this world and taking his place.

Jason goes to buy a gun, but can't because his double told the dealer not to sell him one.

"The infinite nature of the corridor precluded me from running into more versions of myself, but I did see one the Jason with his back flayed open."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch  p. 261

"Is it possible to outthink yourself?" Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 262

Jason's clone tries to shoot Jason.
Jason realized their were murders being committed by different versions of himself. He almost got caught but lost himself in a bar.

"All you can do is live with the best version of yourself, right?"
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 271

Jason decides the only way to beat the other versions of himself is to do something random.

Jason goes to a diner and starts smoking and is asked to leave. Jason goes to jail because of that.
Daniala comes to bail him out. She doesn't know what to do. Jason calls that worlds Jason at the University to prove she isn't going crazy. They pick up Charlie at school. Daniala just received a text saying she was in danger and to call the number she was texted on.

"The multiverse exists because every choice we make creates a fork in the road, which leads into a parallel world. Every choice we make unfolds into a multitude of permutations."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 293

"All your life your told your unique. An individual. That no one else on the planet is like you."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 299

Charlie is 15 now. Jason can't sleep, he sees versions of himself trying to murder himself. Jason has a chat with all the other Jason's on this plane of existence and agrees to discuss the issues of his family with all his clones.

"I've seen so many versions of you. But it's all, in the end, just life. We see it macro, like one big story, but when your in it, it's all just day to day. And isn't that what you have to make your peace with?"
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch p. 314

Jason finds himself dying in the snow, he's told one of his duplicates did this. Jason and his copy are in a fight, he's forced to strip. He is saved by another Jason.

"Every moment, every breath, contains a choice. But life is imperfect. We make the wrong choices. So we end up living in a state of perpetual regret, and is there anything worse?"
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 326

"Life doesn't work that way, you live with your choices and learn, you don't cheat the system."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 326

"We're so clearly at the end. Everything we've built-our house, our job, our friends, our collective life-it's all gone. We have nothing left but eachother, and yet in this moment I'm happier than I've ever been."
Dark Matter
Blake Crouch
p. 332

"If you go in with fear, fear is what you'd find."

A Wind in the Door

This story is the second in the series of A Wrinkle in Time. It is by Madeleine L'Engle. I began it October 22, 2019. I completed it on November 14, 2019. This story had 102 pages.

There were dragons in the garden.
Charles Wallace could read his sister even more than he could read his mother.

Charles Wallace told his kindergarten class about mitochondria and farandolea and how they formed a psycho kinetic bond millions of years ago, and he got yelled at by his teacher for showing off.

Meg went to see Mr. Jenkins, who was the elementary school teacher about Charles Wallace. Meg said to Mr. Jenkins if their wasn't a law about sending your children to school Charles Wallace would probably be home schooled.

"Why do people always mistrust people that are different? Am I really that different?"

A Wind in the Door P. 217

"A life form which can't adapt doesn't last very long."

A Wind in the Door P. 227

Charles Wallace had a dragon feather and was showing his family when they were talking about what was practical and impractical. Mr. and Mrs. Murry have instruments that emit "a cosmic scream" in the galaxy. This sound is too high a frequency for the human ear to register.

"E=mc², Einstein's law has never been disproved. But it's coming into question."

A Wind in the Door P. 233

Mrs. Murry was reading Charles Wallace an article called "The Polarizabilities and Hyperpolarizabilities of Small Molecules by theoretical chemist Peter Libmann and Meg thought that this why Charles Wallace couldn't get along in school. Meg went out if the dragons were real.
Louise the snake saved Meg from a false Mr. Jenkins. Calvin saved Meg from her hallucination. A group of dragons is called a Drive.
Charles Wallace came to Meg as well and they saw the drive of dragons. They all met this dragon. It was huge. It had a wing span of ten feet. They met a man who claimed to be a teacher. He said the beast won't hurt you. The teacher introduced them to Proginoskes, the dragon. It communicated telepathically. The cheribrum thought that humans painted them to resemble baby pigs.

"Age for a cherubim is immaterial. It's only for time bound creatures that age exists. I am, in cherubim terms, still a child, and that is all you need to know."

A Wind in the Door P. 253

The teacher went by the name Blajeny.

"The teacher is write. It's a question of learning to adapt, and nobody can do that for me, I'll learn, eventually, how to be conspicuous. I assure you I haven't mentioned mitochondria and farandolea lately."

A Wind in the Door P. 254

They were all being called to help.

"My children, my school building is the entire cosmos. Before your time with me is over, I may have to take you to great distances and to very strange places."

A Wind in the Door P. 257

"A cherubim is not higher order than earthlings, just different."

A Wind in the Door P. 257

Their snake Loise is a teacher as well that is why she is so fond of Sandy and Denny. One day they will be teachers as well.

"Wait until tomorrow to find out what tomorrow holds."

A Wind in the Door P. 261

"Too many of my colleagues have forgotten that they are supposed to practice the art of healing. If I don't have the gift of healing in my hands than all my expensive training isn't worth much."

Dr. Louise Colubra

A Wind in the Door P. 263

"It's a lot simpler to adapt to low gravity, or no atmosphere, or even  sandstorms then it is to hostile inhabitants."

A Wind in the Door P. 265

"People are always hostile to anyone whose different."

A Wind in the Door P. 266

Meg hurried out in the morning to make sure Proginoskes was real.

The Mr. Jenkins Meg saw vanish in thin air was an Echthroi.

"I'm real and most Earthlings can see very little reality."

A Wind in the Door P. 266

"Meg stood besides him, looking at the brilliance of the stars. Then came a sound, a sound which was above sound, a violent, silent electrical report which made her press her hands in pain against her ears. Across the sky, where the sky were clustered as thickly as in the Milky Way, a crack shivered, slivered became a line of nothingness."

A Wind in the Door P. 277

"Unreason has crept up on us so insidiously that we've hardly been aware of it."

A Wind in the Door P. 279

"There are still stars which move in ordered and beautiful rhythm. There are still people people in this world who keep promises. Even little one, like you cooking your stew over your bunsen burner. You may be in the middle of an experiment, but you still remember to feed your family. That's enough to keep my heart optimistic, no matter how pessimistic my mind. And you and I have good enough minds to know how very limited and finite they really are. The naked intellect is an extraordinary inaccurate instrument."

A Wind in the Door P. 281

Kythe is a cherubim with clairvoyant abilities.Charles Wallace test scores were exceptionally well that the school was considering getting him a special tutor.

"You might say that mental telepathy is the very beginning of learning to kythe. But the cherubic language is entirely kything--with you, with stars, with galaxies, with the salt in the ocean, the leaves of all the trees."

A Wind in the Door P. 290

"Your brain stores all the sensory impressions it receives, but your conscious mind doesn't have the key to the storehouse. All I want you to do is to open yourself up to me so that I can open the door to your minds storehouse."

A Wind in the Door P. 290

"We don't know everything at once. We just do one thing at a time as it is given to us to do."

A Wind in the Door P. 293

Love is what makes a person know who they are.

"None of us like to see himself as he appears to others. I understand your point of view better than I did before. You were quite right to come to me about your little brother. He is indeed special and I have come to the conclusion that I have made a mistake not realizing this and treating this accordingly."

A Wind in the Door P. 300 Mr. Jenkins

Louise the Larger helped identify the real Mr. Jenkins

"Success lies in the happiness of peer groups."

A Wind in the Door P. 305

"She saw with a flash of intuition that her kything was like a small child trying to pick out the melody on the piano with one finger, as against the harmony of a full orchestra like the cherubic language."

A Wind in the Door P. 308

"Love isn't how you feel. It's what you do. I've never had a feeling in my life. As a matter of fact, it matters only with Earth people."

A Wind in the Door P. 310 Proginoskes

Mr. Jenkins after being named saw Proginoskes and fainted

"You do not have to if you don't want to. You have simply been forced with several things outside your current spheres of experience. That does not mean they-we-do not exist."

A Wind in the Door P. 313

"Don't try to comprehend with your mind. Your minds are way to limited. Use your intuition. Think of the size of your galaxy. Now think of your sun. It's a star and it's a great deal smaller than the entire galaxy, isn't it?"

Blajeny

A Wind in the Door P. 320

"Nobody should be exactly like anybody else? Is anybody?"

A Wind in the Door P. 322

"It is the nature of love to create. It is the nature of hate to destroy."

A Wind in the Door P. 323

There was a new creature in there class a mouse, who was just born yesterday. Sporos was his name.

"Do you mean on Earth, host you never communicate with eachother and with other planets? You mean your planet revolves all isolated in space? Aren't you terribly lonely? Isn't he?"

Sporos

A Wind in the Door P. 331

"There are evil forces at work in the world. They are throughout the universe."

A Wind in the Door P. 332

"It is not always the great or the important that the balance of the universe depends."

A Wind in the Door P. 333

They're going to Yadah, Sporo's place of birth.

"We have to live together--in harmony-- or we will not live at all."

A Wind in the Door P. 337

"This was a dance, a dance ordered and graceful, and yet given an impression of complete and utter freedom, of ineffable joy. As the dance progressed, the movement accelerated, and the pattern became cleaner, closer wind and fire moving together, as the wind and fire united."

A Wind in the Door P. 340

"Time isn't any more important than size. All that is required of you to be here in the Now, in the moment which has been given to us."

Proginoskes

A Wind in the Door P. 341

Meg used math as a way to stay grounded in her work. Kything is easier when you know your authentic self.

"A grown fura is far less limited than a human being is by time and place, because a furae can be with others at any time in any place; distance doesn't separate them."

Proginoskes

A Wind in the Door P. 344

"Meg felt a swirling of kything all around her; as though the words and images were drops of water which go and make up the ocean, drops of water which are not separate from the other as human beings are separate. Within the flowing of the deep tides images flashed by; many little creatures like Siporos, scampering about carefree, merry, great kelp-fern-trees, the Deepened Ones, about which they flitted and fluttered."

A Wind in the Door P. 347

"One who is Xed cannot think. The pain still burned like ice, but Meg could think through it. She still was."

A Wind in the Door P. 349

"I am a cherubim. All I need to know is that all the galaxies, all the stars all creatures, cherubic, human, farandoloni, all, all, are Known by name."

A Wind in the Door P. 358

Kything was so rich that silence speaks more powerful than words.
Calvin cleaned a house and took a tea set as payment.

"Most major scientific discoveries have been made by crackpots--or at least; people who were thought to be crackpots."

Calvin

A Wind in the Door P. 263

"Distance doesn't seem to be any more important than size, or time. As for caring--well that's outside the realm of possible fact."

A Wind in the Door P. 364

"The first of the bean plants, the one in the O'Keefe's kitchen was puny and too pale a green. The second plant in the window the one given regular care but no special time or attention grew normally. The third plant Calvin loved, grew strong and green and unusually large and healthy."

A Wind in the Door P. 365

"When Sporos Deepens it means that he comes of age. I mean he grows up. The temptation for farandolea or for man is to stay an immature pleasure-seeker. When we seek our own pleasure as the ultimate good we place ourselves as the center of the universe, but nothing created is the center."

A Wind in the Door P. 366-367

They met a farae, these creatures who were deepened, sang the song of the angelic universe, their song orders the rhythm of creation.

"I have heard that the number of cells in the brain and the number of stars in the in the universe is said to be exactly equal."

Mr. Jenkins

A Wind in the Door P. 370

"Then, through the raging of the dance came a strong, pure strain of melody, quiet certain noble. The circle and scampered about aimlessly; then, led by Sporos they raced to another fara and began circling it."

A Wind in the Door P. 371

"As you know your Earth is ill, by fish dying in rivers, birds dying in the forests, people dying in choked cities. You know by war and hate and chaos. Senex knows his mitochondrion is ill when the farandolea will not Deepen and many farae are dying. Listen. Kythe."

A Wind in the Door P. 372

"The Echthroi are always behind wars."

Proginoskes

A Wind in the Door P. 374

"Don't you understand that we're all part of one another, and the Echthroi are trying to splinter us, in just the same way that they are trying to destroy all creation?"

Proginoskes

A Wind in the Door P. 375

"Don't you understand are your saviors? When everything is nothing there will be no more wars, no illness, no death. There will be no more poverty, no more pain, no more slums, no more starvation. "

Mirror Mr. Jenkins

A Wind in the Door P. 376

"Nature abhors a vacuum."

Meg

A Wind in the Door P. 377

"It is only when you are fully rooted that we are able to move."

Senex

A Wind in the Door P. 379

"It is true small offspring. Now that I am rooted no longer limited by motion. Now I may move anywhere in the universe. I sing with the stars, I dance with the galaxies. I share in the joy--and in the grief. We farae must have our part in the rhythm of the mitochondria, or we cannot be. If we cannot be than we are not."

Senex

A Wind in the Door P. 379

"Reality is meaningless. Nothing is the center. Come. Join the others in your race. Only a few more farae to surround and you will have Yaddah for your own."

Dark Mr. Jenkins

A Wind in the Door P. 380

Meg gave some of her life energy to save a farae and helped it deepen, the real Mr. Jenkins helped her regain her composure

"Nonsense. Of course the Echthroi. I took the Echthroi into Mr. Jenkins and they are right. It is not the Echthroi who are empty, it was I. They have filled me with the pleasure of the abyss of nothingness. Come let me X you, come to me, come..."

Dark Mr. Jenkins

A Wind in the Door P. 385

"I name you, Echthroi. I name you Meg. I name you Calvin. I name you Proginoskes.
I fill you with Naming.
Be.
Be butterfly and behemoth, be galaxy and grasshopper,
star and sparrow,
you matter,
you are,
be!
Be catapiller and comet,
be porcupine and planet,
sea sand and solar system,
sing with us,
dance with us,
rejoice with us,
for the glory of creation,
sea gulls and saraphim,
angle worms and angle hosts,
chrysanthemums and cherubim
(O cherubim)
Be!
Sing for the glory
of the living and the loving

the flaming of creation
sing with us
dance with us
be with us
Be!

They were not her words only.
They were the words of Senex,
of the Deepening Sporos,
of all the singing farae,
the laughter of the greening farandolea,
Yadah itself,
all the mitochondria,
all the human hosts,
the earth,
the sun,
the dance of the stars whose birthing she has seen,
the galaxies,
the cherubim and seraphim,
wind and fire,
the words of the Glory."

A Wind in the Door Pp. 391-392

Mr. Jenkins was going to upgrade the elementary school to keep an eye on children such as Charles Wallace.

A Wrinkle In Time

Madeleine L'Engle
196 pp.

I began this story on October 1, 2019, and finished it on Monday October 21, 2019. It was the first of a three part series. A Wrinkle in Time, A Wind in The Door and A Swiftly Tilting Planet all dealt with Meg and Charles-Wallace Murry and the O'Keefe's as well.

"There's nothing the matter with his mind. He just does things in his own time and way."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 10

Everyone does some things differently. That's what makes our communities and countries and even our families so strong. This can be said about many individuals. They don't go with the flow, the make their own waves so to speak. Are you a leader or a follower? How brave are you?

"Your development has to go at it's own pace. It just doesn't happen to be the usual pace."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 11

There is no predetermined time when one shall develop into something else. Life is a process, we have to all stay true to ourselves as well as stay true to the process of life.

"You don't have to understand things for them to be."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 24

Charles Wallace and Meg met Calvin O'Keefe. These are the three main characters.

"The heart has its own reasons, where of nothing knows nothing."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 35

Calvin, Meg, and Charles Wallace just met Mrs. Whatsit and was sewing Holloween costumes, she told them to leave, Charles Wallace said he'd explain later as soon as he understood.

"I think with our human limitations, we're not always able to understand the explanations."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 45

Calvin came over for stew, then Meg walked him home.

Charles Wallace appeared and took them their voyage with Mrs. Who, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Which

"It was not simple darkness, or absence of light. Darkness has a tangible quality, it can be moved through and felt; in darkness you can bark your shins; the world of things still exists around you. She was lost in a horrifying void."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 55

"The only way to cope with something deadly is to treat it a little lightly."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 58

"Nothing is hopeless; we must hope for everything."

Euripides

A Wrinkle In Time P. 59

"The more a man knows the less he talks."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 59

They all just tesseracted to Messier 101, Uriel third planet of Malak

"To stake one's life for the truth."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 60

Mrs. Whatsit turned into a minotaur with wings.

As they flew they saw a beautiful garden, and many creatures the same as Mrs. Whatsit turned into, they were singing, Charles Wallace could only make out some of what they were singing. They each took flowers from the gardens and used them to breathe when the altitude was to thin.

"What could there be about a shadow that was so terrible that she knew that there had never been or ever would be again anything that would chill her with a fear that was beyond shuddering, beyond crying or screaming, beyond the possibility of comfort."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 60

"Experiance is the mother of knowledge."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 72

You need knowledge in order to have gained experience. The more knowledgeable you are the more experienced you may be.

They went to a two dimensional planet. They met the Happy Medium. When the children asked her to show them their home, the medium said "Why must I show them that when they're so many pleasant things to see."

Mrs. Which responded "There will no longer be so many pleasant things to look at if responsible people do not do something about the unpleasant ones."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 74

They saw a darkness that was trying to consume Earth.

Jesus, Shakespeare, Leonardo Divinci, Michelangelo, Bach, Louie Pasteur, Madame Curie, Albert Einstein, Albert Schweitzer, Muhammad Gandhi, Buddha, Beethoven, St. Francis, Euclid, and Copernicus faught the darkness.

Meg saw Calvin's mother hitting his brothers, she wanted to protect him as she did Charles Wallace

"This time the nothingness was interrupted by a feeling of clammy coldness such as she never had felt before. The coldness had deepened and swirled all around her and through her, and was filled with a new and strange of darkness that was a completely tangible thing, a thing that wanted to eat and digest her like some enormous beast of prey."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 93

"I do not know everything; still many things I understand."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 95

"Only a fool is not afraid."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 96

True bravery is shown when you least expect it. It is strength, courage and disapline which lead to bravery. To different people bravery varies, some may lead adventurous lives which bravery is a must, while others may lead more subtle lives where they don't require bravery as much.

The town they went to all the children were playing ball and skipping rope outside in rhythm. The houses and the paths were identical and even the flowers.
Charles Wallace gave a boy his ball back and his mother glowered at him. They met a paper boy who told them about Central Intelligence. They found the Central Intelligence and were going in. In the Central Intelligence Agency they saw a man who was reporting one of his letters were jamming. To which Charles Wallace said "Strawberry or raspberry jam."

"We have to make decisions, based on fear."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 112

They had met this man who said they had been waiting for them. The man had asked Charles Wallace to stare in his eyes.

Charles Wallace has a neurologically brain to cope with special ideals.

"I would not have your decisions come from the weakness of an empty stomach."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 120

They lost Charles Wallace and were eating with a clone

They didn't know what happened to Charles Wallace.

"You see on this planet everything is in perfect order because everybody has learned to relax, to give in, to submit. All you have to do is look quietly and steadily into the eyes of are good friend here, for he is our friend, dear sister, and he will take you in as he has taken me."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 127

"Maybe if you aren't unhappy sometimes, you don't know how to be happy."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 133

Charles Wallace, the imposter, proved himself yet again by laughing at Meg when she got hurt. Meg has to sacrifice herself to save both Charles Wallace and her father. Their father couldn't see. So, Mrs. Who's glasses gave him back his sight.

"Meg could feel a rhythmical pulsing. It was a pulsing not only about her but in her as well, as though the rhythm of her heart and lungs was no longer her own but was being worked by some outside source."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 146

Meg realized it was a brain.

"Like and equal are two entirely different things."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 149

"The first sign of her returning to conciousness was cold. Than sound. She was aware of voices that seemed to be traveling through her across an artic waste. She realized the voices belonged to her father and Calvin. She did not hear Charles Wallace. She tried  to open her eyes, but the lids would not move. She tried to sit up, but she could not stir. She struggled to turn over, to move her hands, her feet, but nothing happened. She knew that she had a body, but it was lifeless as marble."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 152

"ITs completely unused to being refused. That's the only reason I could help from being absorbed, too. No mind has to hold out against IT for so many thousands of centuries that certain certain centers have become soft and atrophied through lack of use. If you hadn't come to me when you did I'm not sure how much longer I would have lasted. I was at the point of given in"

A Wrinkle In Time P. 153

"Nothing seemed important but complete rest, and of course IT offered me complete rest. I had almost come to the conclusion that I was wrong to fight, that IT was right after all and everything I believed in most passionately was a madman's dream. But then you and Meg came to me, broke through my prison, and hope and faith returned."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 153

Meg was trapped in a marble statue. They saw a beast with tentacle fingers which each had a head. The beast was taking Meg.
Meg was out of the comatose state and asked about Charles Wallace, father, and Calvin. Her keeper said they were looking for Charles Wallace. The keepers don't understand the concept of dark and light.

"How can you explain sight on a world where no one has ever seen and where their is no need for eyes?"

A Wrinkle In Time P. 169

"It was a music even more tangible than form or sight. It had essence and structure. And for a moment only the melody was real."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 171

"It was she who was limited by her senses."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 171

"We look not at things which are seen, but at things which are not seen. For things which are seen are temporal. But things which are unseen are eternal."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 172

Aunt Beast took Meg back to her father and Calvin and as they were having lunch their meal got interupted with Angel's. Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which materialized between Meg, Calvin, and her father. Meg's going to save Charles Wallace.

"You mean you're comparing our lives to a sonnet? A strict form, but freedom within it?"

A Wrinkle In Time P. 184

"You're given the form, but you have to write the sonnet yourself. What you say is completely up to you."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 184

Mrs Whatsit gave her the gift of love.

Mrs Who gave the spectacles with a little enchantment: "The foolishness of man; and the weakness of God is stronger than man. For ye see your calling brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many might, not many noble, are called but God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound which are mighty. And base things of the world, and things which are despised, has God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to naught things that are naught...May the right prevail."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 186-187

"Love. That was what she had that IT did not have. She had Mrs  Whatsits love, and her father's and her mother's, and the real Charles Wallace's and the twins, and Aunt Beast's."

A Wrinkle In Time P. 192

Once back to Earth Meg, her father, and mother and the twins were hugging and the three witches tried to tell them something but vanished in a gust of wind before they had a chance.
